Wilder sacked

We are turning into Watford - seven months ago we knocked Spurs out of the FAC and last season we finished a decent 7th - it been grim this season, but we are 11 games in. As we are all know some of this is the recruitment made for Wilder.

I don't think we have the players to play Wilders 5 at the back system, it leaves us overran in midfield. I think he's obviously a good manager, his record before he came here proves that, but I think his stubbornness to not change his system when we didn't replace Tavernier has cost him. I would have given him longer but there you go.

I'd actually like to see him given a chance. I know we've been down the road of bringing in rookie managers, but Leo lives and breathes this club, and I think the players respect him. If he gets results early on the club may give him until the World Cup before making a decision either way.
No room for sentiment I'm afraid, this is a huge job, and it has to be the right person. Leo unfortunately is too friendly, too liked and that can lead to players taking the pish.

Gutted.

Reckon the blame for the state of this season falls 60/40 between Wilder and the club, haven’t decided which way yet.

Normally it’s exciting getting a new manager, but hiding behind my hands at the thought of who we might bring in next.

There are a lot of people saying this is just going around in circles, but to be fair to the club we made a big change in structure last year.

We need to give Scott a chance to build a long term project, sign prospects with sell on value if they hit, build a club philosophy.

I agree that it was disappointing that we were unable to get a better replacement in for Tav, but Wilder did not explore other options when it turned out Mowatt did not look good in the role.

He good have tried Hackney, Boyd Munce, McNair, one of the fullbacks (I still reckon CM would be Dijksteel's best position). We were not terrible in the games McGree played there! Same as happened when he was at Sheff Utd - when things went backwards he did not show a willingness to try something to change it.

21 points from 20 games is relegation form over half a season - with a team that had previously been good enough to go on a run of wins.
