Wilder sacked

Wonder if the club will still be forging ahead with the list of changes Wilder demanded because he 'knows what good looks like', never slated him while in post as am an eternal optimist when it comes to boro, but he really was an arrogant bloke. Glad he is gone in hindsight.
Pulis said he was brought in to look at the club top to bottom, and Warnock alluded to something similar. I'm not sure we ever took either of their advice on board.

Getting the next manager right is massive for the future of the club.

Make or break for Gibson now

Questions already asked, he may well be in the process of playing his final move at the club
This sounds like a broken record. Gibbo does like doing his sackings in October.

The good thing about our position at the moment is we can give someone time to come in, improve things, establish a foundation to push on next season. Wilder had that chance and it could've worked but the wheels had started coming off last season. I want a progressive manager, someone that wants to play football. I don't need instant success but a clear ambition, appropriately backed by the club with the right type of recruitment and strategy.

I don't know who that manager is. That's Kieran Scott's job so hopefully he's good at it because this is his first real opportunity to show us what he does since his appointment. I'd be happy to go foreign. Sick of being so parochial.
I thought Kieran Scott was involved in recruiting Wilder?

He was. You can't assess if he's doing a job in creating a system of continuity with the 1st appointment though. If we go for a manager now like Warnock that wants strikers that are 7ft tall, which we have none of, and play hoofball or needs wide forwards, which we have none of, then you know we have no direction and are just flip-flopping again. If we bring someone in who can work with a similar set of players. Ball playing defenders, passing football, pressing etc suits our players (except out midfield).

I suppose it’s a result the manager has aimed for and achieved . He wanted to be sacked imo
I can't buy that, no one wants a sacking on their record. I suspect he was disillusioned and yeah this makes it easier for him to jump ship without seeming like he had an ugly ambition. But I still don't buy he lost on purpose to get the sack. I just think he ran out of ideas, far quicker than he did at Sheff Utd. He clearly also struggled to gain the respect of the players
