Wilder Rumours

As I said above there’s normally a reason for these stories.

Btw for all our posts of varying opinions

there’s only one man that truly knows the truth and he’s also the only one that can end the speculation as well.
Yes. Come on Ian “The Moose” Abraham. Tell us!!

Seems to me that when Wilder was appointed he and Scott shook hands on an agreement to compromise and find common ground but both secretly had their fingers crossed behind there backs and both believed they could get their own way. Now they are just butting heads.

Ultimately Scott is the senior man in this dynamic and there will only be one winner if it carries on. Maybe Wilders many assertions of what a good fit the club was for him was trying to convince himself more than anyone else. I'd like to see him stay and be a success but there is rarely this much smoke without a fire. Won't be surprised to see him go.

This situation has been abundantly clear since the window shut and from Wilder's team selections. It can't be allowed to go on, Gibson should have acted in this international break and brought Bilic in.

The longer we are in this position at the bottom the less attractive we are as a prospect to a decent manager who could take us back near the top 6. Someone happy to work with Scott (which tbf we thought Wilder was, from his own words). What a mess.

I dont think anybody will be. Disappointment from me yes. Pure pure conjecture on my part but I suspect CW and SG have issues between them. For the reasons speculated.

The strained relationship exacerbated by results on the pitch which have permeated down to the players. SG cannot afford to dismiss CW so is anticipating he will leave for another job and perhaps get compensation too.
Pure speculation on my part but that’s how it feels to me.

I don’t blame Wilder for wanting out.

We’ve had manager after manager criticise the recruitment on their way out.

Steve Gibson is the problem, and that isn’t changing anytime soon so this will continue to happen.

Cheers for your post and feedback, no way what so ever Karanka ran a transfer surplus. He ran a deficit.

Some Championship buys

Rhodes £9m
Downing £5.3m
Nugent £4m
Kike £3m
Fabbrini £3m
De la Pena £2m
Voessen - loan fee
Clayton £2.5m
Stuani £2m

Where we the fees coming in to cover the above?

Thats just 2 seasons and there were more that I have not listed.
Promotion would cover that 👍

I agree with you but would much sooner Scott leave than Wilder.

If Scott thinks it's acceptable to leave us with these centre midfield options then our recruitment is in a dire mess (Plus ca change).

Wilder is a good manager who has had to plug the gaps with contacts like Luongo. Scott seems to me a chancer who has taken credit for the work Stuart Webber did at Norwich.

If the strained relationship is with Scott and not SG then I think Scott needs to leave. Whatever is the cause of the issue (if there is one and there probably is) then it needs to be resolved urgently with a departure.

There is an overwhelming abundance of people putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 or just complete guesswork and speculation or tabloid non-story speculation on this thread.

Meanwhile, it’s business as usual at Rockliffe by all accounts!

Mental.

Wilder, Gibson and now Scott are all getting pelters on this thread. Hope the club aren’t as fractured and as full of drama-Queens as this forum is 😂

Until or unless something happens officially, it’s all just hot air.
And if anything does happen, it will be reported. Roll on the weekend. God I hate international breaks

What does that say to anyone coming into the club in a role above the manager though?

Just going from what I’ve read this morning, it sounds like Wilder’s team/agents are trying to sound out other employers in an attempt to get Gibson to sack him so he can leave and get a compensation package, rather than resign.

I’d be surprised if he was here for our next home game.

@Diego have you already said what your source is telling you or have I missed that?

It’s very vague but it’s the source that makes me confident he’s leaving. All I was told is it’s likely he will be leaving soon. But the source is very good so guess it’s just a game of wait and see

So what's your overall assessment of it now, Viv? Are you starting to think there's more in this than we may have given credence to initially?
Has anything actually changed? Some journalists have said there is uncertainty, one says that a club might want Wilder when a takeover happens further down the line. None of this is revelatory TBH.

There might be something in it, there might not be. The fact is we don’t know. I’m not going to be slagging off Wilder, Scott, the chairman, whoever, based on little or nothing. We don’t know what’s going on. I’ve had a sense that some people have been almost willing this to happen since he was linked with Burnley. Even if he comes out and dismisses it all on Friday morning, it won’t be enough for those people and we’ll go through it all again when the next job comes up. Whatever he says now won’t be enough.

Even as it stands, every word he says is assessed and combed through as people hunt for criticisms of Scott, the chairman, recruitment. It feels untenable and he’ll be probably be gone soon because the momentum has changed.

And to be honest I’m amazed this thread is still running considering some of the things that appeared on it earlier(unless admin have deleted that stuff and I’ve missed it).

I’d sack him today if what I’m reading is true. His camp are pushing for the Bournemouth move hence all the noise

This all comes back to Wilder being aggrieved thinking he was wronged by what happened after he got the chop at Sheff Utd and his next gig should have been in the Prem. He is determined to get back there and they way he sees best to do that is flirt with every job available, rather than get us there.
