Wilder Rumours

Let him leave. Get either Nathan Jones or Rob Jones in.

Sound.
I don't think he will leave, nor do I want him to, but if he did of like to see us go for an up and coming, or new manager, which is where we always seem to get our best picks from, such as Robbo, SMAC, Charlton. Karanka etc.

Someone like Anthony Barry (Chelsea coach, highly regarded and ready to move into management) or Kieron McKenna, current Ipswich manager doing very well.

This type of **** makes me hate social media etc.

It's clearly all polluted nonsense, which will obvious make it's way to the players/staff/club...thereby creating a poor atmosphere.

Then a bad result this weekend, and this will all make things 100x worse.
Ok this might be controversial but the fact is journalists very rarely just make stuff up ( I know that’s the belief but it’s just not true) out of nowhere. Yes they embellish or they may surmise but very rarely would any reporter just make up a story without some basis in fact.

Esp at national level as their reputation and integrity is on the line.

Am I saying this is 100% true no im not but the new us owners must have given this guy a reason to report this.

Very few if any stories are made up out of the ether.

Wilder will feel he has genuine grievances with the summer recruitment. The club will feel they have a structure now that managers need to work with - and have bought a lot of new players this summer. Add into the mix the Burnley stuff and possible unrest in summer and I can see why the club haven’t backed him with his own style of player. Feels like we’re waiting for the inevitable really. Which isn’t good for either party.

I agree with this, i think we're in limbo like i have said on another thread. I now feel Gibson no longer has belief in Wilder and wants him out however he's ruthless and won't pull the trigger this early into the season and will hope someone comes in for him and we earn compo. Someone will need to meet with out vision and style of play and there's loads of managers out there that could follow this. I have quoted them on the other thread. I would love someone like Laurent Blanc, Quique Setien, Solskjaer? Nuno Espirito Santo?

Totally agree a lot of 'stories' aren't made up.

And there may actually be some truth in the link to Bournemouth.

But all this 'tension behind the scenes' 4 weeks after the window shut is clearly a smokescreen. No doubt both Gibson & Wilder are frustrated after what happened to us in the transfer window (as well as all fans and others).

The writer/journalist etc is clearly muddying the waters...and that's what they're good at doing...which doesn't help us whatsoever.

Great stuff. Expect more poor results
If there are tensions behind the scenes, which many have suspected for a while, then its madness to continue. It's clearly affecting performances on the pitch and the longer it goes on the harder we'll find it to climb the table.

I hope Wilder or Gibbo comes out and rubbishes this though and we start the season this weekend with a win away at Cov.

Oh yes it’s definitely aimed at destabilising us I completely agree but I’m just making an observation that all journalists in this country just make stuff up just isn’t true.

Tbf Craig Hope is a highly respected football journalist. He's not like Graeme Bailey.

My biggest worry with wilder is the fact there are no academy players on his bench ( rarely if ever) and this flies in the face of what we all know the clubs philosophy is based on. Look at howson new role to see that.

I can’t for one minute think Steve Gibson Is happy with this given the time and money we have ploughed into our academy to see largely sidelined at senior level.

It just appears on the outside to be a complete clash of ideologies.
