Wigan and Sheff Wed to be deducted points next season

EFL statement tells us nothing new. Absolute shambles.

This never ending nightmare rolls on. I hope we can end it by getting the point we need on Wednesday.

It tells us nothing new but re-states that the penalty will be this season, probably as a direct response to the Daily Mail article

Daily mail should apologise, where they get these things from I dnt know, maybe just made up for click bait

Yeah, it's not fair to fans of Wigan or other impacted clubs.
They should retract the article and apologise for poor journalism.

EFL will be sh1tting bricks hoping Wigan win on Wednesday and Charlton or Luton lose. Otherwise chaos will ensue and two teams (at least) will be unsure of their real fate beyond the end of the season.

The EFL are handling this appallingly. They are opening themselves up to multiple lawsuits all because they have no balls to make a decision.
That isn't true. The football league have made their decision, 12 point penalty. Unfortunately there is effectively a grievance process, which allows an appeal. Due process has to be applied otherwise the EFL WILL be sued by Wigan. It'll all get cleared pretty quickly I would think, within about 10 days of the season ending.

I'm not talking about Wigan. Im referring to Derby and Sheffield Wednesday. The latter's hearing took place some time ago by the way.

don't get me started on those two, they should both have been found guilty by now, Derby's case in particular is so clear and blatant cheating that they should get a 90 point fine, get relegated with 0 points and start next season on minus 29. Then Richard Keogh should score a goal against them on the last day of the following season for Accrington Stanley to relegate them to League Two....even that would be too soft a punishment for the sh!thouse way that club have behaved in the last couple of years.

I am no great lover of EFL or FA when it comes to rules, the Derby, Sheff W and Birmingham cases are a complete mystery, but with the Wigan administration they have been consistent throughout - the 12 point penalty will apply this season unless they are already relegated without it. They have no real say over what an independent appeals panel does, apart from making sure they have followed their own rules.

Thats my whole point. They have dragged this out with a lack of decision making that may come home to roost very shortly.

"We recognise the desire amongst stakeholders, not least from our own members, but also their respective supporters"

If that sentence doesn't show you who and what the EFL regard as important, I don't know what does
