When will you get the vaccine?

Interesting that you have teachers high up the list.
We are told here that they are not particularly likely to get infected compared to other groups in society.
I do think we are partly benefiting from local politics (each city/State makes its own decision)......public schools here have been closed since last March and teachers are refusing to come back, saying it's not safe. Considering we've been open since last August without a single case of community transmission on campus I'd say we are not as high a risk as we first thought, the authorities know this but teaching unions are having none of it, hence the high priority for education workers in Chicago.

I'll sleep a lot better once I know all my staff are vaccinated mind!

For those who have had it, which one did you get? And did you have side effects? It seems the second jab gives the worst effects (and that the Moderna vaccine is worse than the Pfizer one)?

Had the Oxford back in January, as above, felt a bit tired for a couple of days but nothing too bad. I did get a nosebleed though which may be coincidence, but I've never had one in about 25 years but woke up with blood on my pillow, a small amount though. Wife had hers same day and she felt a bit ropey, like mild flu, for a couple of days as did a few of the lasses in the office who had it

Hoping to get the Moderna vaccine which will arrive here sometime in Spring. Kind of works timing wise with when I am due my shot

I’m not aware of the Moderna vaccine having any additional side effects over the Pfizer vaccine. Normally the only side effect is a sore arm after the injection

No side affects with AZ, apart from being a bit tired the evening I got it. Friends of ours had both Moderna jabs with no side effects (in PA).

From what I’ve heard, the chances of you getting the Pfizer jab are greater If you choose to have it at a hospital location rather than a local community centre, etc. This is because the hospital has the facilities to store the Pfizer injections and the community centres don’t.

I actually work on the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine project overseas and see that people aren’t really having side effects. But due to bulk orders from Japan and Canada we won’t be able to supply the vaccine to the U.K. until the spring.

Pfizer for me, just a slightly sore arm after both. The people I know who've had Moderna say the reaction to the second one is bad. My wife had Moderna, so I guess we'll find out in 3 weeks, when she has the second. She only had a sore arm after the first.

Mrs Chickenrunner went to the new Darlington site this morning and had the AZ vaccine and got her picture taken for the papers. The vaccine was given by the personnel from the RAMC .................. or 'army blokes' as she called them. (y)

I must have lightweight staff then :D (four more off today after weekend 2nd jabs)

Yeah that's the pattern we are seeing here. I'm booked for Pfizer this Thursday evening.

Got my letter this morning. Couldn't get booked in at Darlo. Thought I had but at the last second it said one of my appointments had been taken. Couldn't get back to Darlo for an appointment. Rang 119 they said all apps had gone at Darlo.
Booked in York next Monday .
