When will you get the vaccine?

According to the calculator I " should expect to receive your first dose of vaccine between 14/04/2021 and 02/05/2021."
However, I had the Oxford jab today!
Text from my local practice on Wednesday.
They seem to be somewhat ahead of the curve. Good on 'em.
Feel fine so far, will see what tomorrow brings.
👍
Woke up this morning feeling fine
(But I ain't got promotion on my mind!)

Should have been getting my second Pfizer dose today but it has been put back to 12 weeks.

Slightly frustrating but thinking bigger picture it’s the right thing to do.

As long as these variants don’t get out of hand we will be very well on the way to getting on top of Covid and getting on with our lives.

These vaccines are an absolute lifeline and it really doesn’t bear thinking where we would be without them.

Assuming I won’t get it as I’ve already had COVID....
Irony doesn't come across well in written form. So just in case you weren't kidding, I hope you know that even if you've had CoVid-19, that doesn't mean you don't need to get the vaccine.

In most cases a natural infection won't stimulate your immune system anywhere near as much as a vaccine will.

It wasn’t irony for clarity. Wondering whether anyone who has had it would get the vaccine, that’s all.

I think I’m looking at about July time - that’s not too far off - near us there is a slim chance you can get a leftover where people have missed appointments - no luck yet on that front but a couple of our friends have managed to get it that way.

Yes you’ll get the vaccine.

My Mrs gets hers on Thursday, she’s 2 years older than me, so I expect a couple of weeks at current rates, the calculator originally said mid April.

OK, that's what I was wondering. So as myself and others have said, you should still be looking to get the vaccine.

So if the calculator says you should, then you might like to book an appointment. Otherwise, check closer to when it says you're due.

It doesn't work like that. I don't know how it works but I do know you can't base it on whenever another individual had theirs.

I’m just basing it on the fact of them working their way down the age groups and me being a bit younger than her.

I don’t mind if I don’t get it soon though, I’m sure my turn will come along at some point, I don’t feel at any risk in the meantime.

Anyone aged 64 or over can book theirs through the NHS website. I've heard of people younger than that getting one that way so it's worth a try.

Got 'Pfizered' last Monday because I was 'supposedly' in one of the newly identified at risk groups. The NHS is now inviting 60 - 63 year olds to book a jab.
