We've accepted a bid of £12m for Tav

I think we'd better get used to this. It's the model the club has decided to follow with the the appointment of Kieran Scott. Bring in young talent and sell on when a good enough bid comes in, and re-invest. OK, Tav was here before we decided to go this way, but he's still a product of the academy and the right age to sell. The timing is shït, but that's life. The team on saturday will be interesting with McNair suspended and still no striker. Let's hope that Forss has at least been allowed to train with the first team and is ready to go.

McCree was always signed as a like for like for Tav imho, Tav is more mobile and is better defensively, but i think McCree has more vision

I don't think Wilder was too kean to play both McCree and Tav in the same midfield 3, when they played last season together it was when Tav was shunted to LWB

WE have cover now for LWB in Bola

We now need minimum 4 players

A left sided centre back
A central midfielder - probably a ball winner type to rotate with Howson (Maybe Choudary as a destroyer?)
2 x Strikers

Of course crowds matter.. also ,yes he can play every week in the premier league, chasing shadows in a poor team in front of his 12000 fans..
If this transfer happens, he will be back in the champo next season...

I too think selling him is good for the club, we could get a few players in with the cash, that can aid our chance in this crazy division..
All I was saying is Bournemouth will be struggling all season, so he wont get much chance to showcase his talent tracking back all game!!!
Did crowds matter when Nathan Ake went to City for £40m? Or Callum Wilson to Newcastle for £20m?

It's a chase for him to show his talent at the highest level in front of the world, whether that's in front of 12k at every home game or if he went to Forest in front of 30k matters not one bit.

It's the money that gets me. He never misses a game, great age, improving all the time. Hes athletic, chips in with assists and works like a dog and proven in the championship. He can also play multiple positions.

Payero was gonna cost half the money and has none of the above. You have kids from other teams with no experience going for more or similar amounts.

We have been stung for what he gives us.

Agree totally. Should have been 15 mil minimum. Tems also now know we have dough and will try to pull our pants down as the window closes. Poor, poor sale.

Yes it did matter.... bigger clubs both of them ..with bigger crowds....

It would be good for the club if our recruitment was up to scratch, but as we all know it is far from it. In fact if average one good buy in every five made we’re doing well. Recruitment has been shocking on the whole for god knows how long, particularly when it comes to finding someone who can put the ball in the net on a regular basis

Marcus has generated a minimum of £10m profit to add to the £12.5m minimum profit that MFC will make on Spence.
That has massive FFP ramifications. That £22.5m will show as Profit in this season's P&L and FFP.

I am disappointed the club could not get more for either, but its clear there was no bidding war for either player.
I hope both lads do well at their new clubs and we get the £10m add ons.

I am also disappointed at the timing of the Tav sale, so close to the season starting.
It is crystal clear that the club need 3 good strikers (Forss likely to be one of them)
They also need a LCB, a DCM and now an AM.

The good news is that they have the budget to do it and FFP scope to do it. This is now without question.
5 more players on top of Forss, including 3 loans, means we have scope to permanently sign 2 very good players.

The question is will Gibson go for it?
I still think he will.

Tavernier is a good player, but I would not be pleased if we were the ones paying £10m plus £2.5m add ons for him, rather than receiving it.
We won't miss Spence, he was not in our team.
We will miss Tav, but if we use the budget well, we will be better off for that deal too.

Good luck and thanks Tavernier (y)
Crack on Gibson and get the quality in.

Yes, I know that hence "and still no striker." However, it's almost certain that he's signing so I was hoping that Brentford have given him permission to train with us after his medical while the loose ends are tidied up. He can then step in on saturday with at least some knowledge of how we play.

No chance

What if got injured.

That’s won’t happen
