We've accepted a bid of £12m for Tav

Paddy takes great corners but last season we needed him to try and get on the end of them.

Boro have "done all they could." Except just say no of course.
The warning signs were there last season at Preston, when it was reported back from several fans that Tav appeared emotional after the final whistle, and appeared to be waving goodbye to the fans.

I'd imagine in his head he was probably thinking to himself, "I'm not going to hand in a transfer request but if a Premier League club makes an offer I'll tell the club that I'd like to leave".

Bournemouth made an offer last week which was rejected, yet a week later the club decides to accept the same offer. Something has clearly changed and I'd say the likelihood is Tav will have told the club that he would like to leave.

I don't have any bad feelings towards Tav for wanting to have a pop at the Premier League. I'm sure if offers hadn't have come in he'd have been more than happy to plough on and give his all for us this season.

Equally, I don't blame the club for accepting the bid. It would have been too risky rejecting the offer after Tav had told the club he wants out. Last thing we need is another Ramirez situation.

Aye, it's not like he's not got a 2 year contract.

If we said last year though, give us a 1 year extension and we'll let you go to the prem if someone comes in with 10m, then I suppose the morally correct thing to do, would be to do it (reluctantly). It still wouldn't make a great deal of sense mind, as we could have just not extended (and not put his wages up no doubt), had him playing this year and then just let him go on a free in 2023. Thing is, by 2023 we would hope to be up then anyway, and in a better position than the likes of Bournemouth to offer him prem football, and probably a much better deal.

I think Warnock said of Tav and Fry last year to give us another year, which they have. I expected both of them to go. A gentleman’s agreement honoured possibly.

Yeah was good of Warnock that. Particularly given he'd already decided he wasn't going to be here himself by that point.

Take anything he says with a pinch of salt is a good rule of thumb.
