Tomas Mejias-best job in football?

To be fair he put on twitter when he was back training a few weeks ago, and was clearly looking forward to the season - so while I don't rate him I do feel a bit sorry for him
Me too but he has 8 months left before he moves on to warm someone else's bench for a few years before retirement. If you're really savvy as a footballer, and don't live the high life, you can retire completely in your mid-30s and never work again. Or worst case start a microbrewery in your house just to keep your head above water....

He'll have been distilling gin.... Vintage. Prob built the still too.
I'm 100% jealous.

In the dream fantasy football career of my imagination I always fancied being second or third choice right back at Barcelona.

Have a laugh with the lads in the week, watch Messi train, kick a ball around a bit. Living in the best city in the world, everyone loves you. At weekends just chill and watch the match from the absolute best seat in the house. None of the pressure from the fans or the manager, no risk of them binning you off to bring in someone better as you've already established yourself as the worst, but a fun bloke to have around and happy with your lot in life. Right back's a chill position anyway until Trent Alexander Arnold ruined it for the rest of us, only so much that can go wrong from there. Get on for the odd cup game and/or in case of a major injury crisis, become a Fabio-style legend with the fans, watch and enjoy the best players in the world on a daily basis. Can even turn up drunk for the match if you like, who cares really. Wake up one day and you're 35 and you've won three Champions Leagues.

It would be brilliant. I'd sign a 15 year contract today, but I'm **** and too old.

According to that leaked thing a few weeks ago which showed the weekly wages, he was / is on £2.5k a week, and another year left on his contract. £130 grand a year, or if you prefer, about 250-300 season ticket holders.
