Tomas Mejias-best job in football?

Is being the 3rd choice keeper one of the best ever jobs?
You'll be on decent wedge without the stress of really having to perform.
Plenty of time to improve your skill set in whatever you fancy... New language, cooking like Ramsey or golf like Palmer.
If you were the 3rd choice keeper , what would you do with all that time?

Performance away to Spurs didn't move him up the pecking order, and with Brynn signing a new 3 year deal I'd think this will be his last season here

TC I edited my post to ask what would you do with all that spare time? Any thoughts?

I know what you mean
He's unlikely to get much game time, so he'll have plenty of spare time come matchday, or do 3 keepers still travel to away games?
I think I'd be improving at something or learning something new, in case I was out of a job come next June

He surely must be better than being 3rd choice at a second tier football club that flirted with relegation! Or is my memory playing tricks on me?

Can imagine some second tier Spanish side would take him. Or maybe he's on a better earner here and that matters more than playing. We know that's the case for plenty of players.

Man UTD are paying 2 keepers nearly 600k a week. Only one will play.

That's not even thinking about a 3rd choice.

In fairness, they'll both play at double figures this season.
One in the league, one in Europe and the cups.

Bringing Meijas back was a baffling decision.

I remember Grant saying that he's really popular around the dressing room. Obviously happy having a laugh with the lads and doing a bit of training. Not a bad way to make a living, but somewhat lacking in ambition

Having a third choice keeper is a waste of time considering you have youth keepers coming through all of the time. You may aswell stick the gk coach in if you don’t trust the kids

Can't understand why he was brought back. He showed absolutely nothing the first time to warrant it. One the most bizarre signings in recent years and we've had plenty of them!
