No other mentions. Literally can't pick another player that played even to their normal level. Hackney and Lath came on and gave an initial injection but not enough to start dishing out star ratings.

Will score McCabe motm because he's stepping up and didn't look out of place. Thought he played a very solid game.

If I have to give scores then I’d go as follows:

Dijksteel *** just, supported the attack well defended ok, but mainly for getting away with that nudge in the back.
McCabe** Made a super crossfield pass and intercepted well
Gilbert* tried hard to get involved, players around him lacked movement, had a good shot saved.

Honourable mention to Engel. (Glover gets a low score)

I thought Engel was the typical Engel ( not very good ) consistently giving the ball away, not one quality cross into the box. I couldn't pick one player today who deserves MOM

McCabe for me, perhaps we should promote from within a bit more instead of looking for those ‘gems’ elsewhere. An example today was the appalling display of Burgzorg at centre forward while we have players on our bench and out on loan more capable in that role.

Glover usually has one calamity game in three…good of him to save one for the FA Cup, so one less while Dieng gets over his niggle with Carrick

It’s the manner of the defeat that infuriates me.
Carrick has built a complete squad of players who come across as if they won’t bust a gut and take their opportunity on days like this, even the centre half’s wouldn’t say boo to a goose!
This was their chance to stake a claim
I will take a defeat if we went down scrapping and fighting but there’s no fight in Carricks team.
Desperately need a leader or two in this window, someone like leadbitter at the very least….
