The season should never have restarted.

It isn't a straw man argument in the slightest. Clubs lose players for reasons outside their control all the time. The idea that it would be "fairer" to void an entire season on this basis is ludicrous.

We're just going to have to fundamentally disagree, because to me the situations are in no way comparable.

I also don't think it should have been voided, I think it should have been decided by PPG.

I'm not bothered about the clubs voting.
They only needed to pasd a 50% threshold, and the 3 teams in the relegation zone and 10+ teams in the promotion fight were always going to vote for it to restart, in self interest.

That and the huge financial implications forced the restart, it doesn't change the fact that the sporting integrity of the season was broken through the myriad number of issues brought up by the pandemic.

It's no coincidence that it's only teams in trouble or with nothing to play for that have lost dozens of players.
