The season should never have restarted.

You have to take a broader view and say at least the teams have the same chances to survive or be promoted, that is by competing. Just because some teams lose a few players due to contractual issues, how is that the leagues fault. You have to put the onus on that to the clubs themselves. Lets be honest here, we are where we are because we are just not good enough.
We will know soon enough! UTB

I agree with size 10 on this.

I do wonder if it would have been restarted if ,say, Leicester City had been clear at the top of the premier or, say, Preston had been top in the Championship. Whether we agree with it or not Liverpool and Leeds are seen as glamour clubs so it has been worth it to the Sky people and the football authorities to see those clubs crowned despite the debacle of watching soulless football matches played without any fans.

This!

Should have been voided - Plus, players approaching the end of their contracts simply did not want to play varying from club to club - how is that fair?

From the EFLs view.. It's the club's responsibility to manage its staffs contracts.

Null and void sounds great from a fans perspective but we don't appreciate the business side of sport.

We might not like it but there's billions of £'s involved and massive legal battles to be had on all fronts if they even attempted to void it.

I don't think it would have been any different if Preston were top of the championship or Leicester top of the prem... There's a lot involved throughout every position in the top leagues.

Lets move on.
The season did restart and we are fighting to stay in this league.
We cant look back - we cant change history.
Its time to look forward and build a team - we havent got very long - so we have to have our eye on players who can do the job.
Start on the front foot and move forward.

Top teams are always going to have a louder voice and of course those putting money into the game will want their say. But it is about financial survival and a continuation of what has gone on before.

TBF wasn't this voted on by all the clubs? If so, I can't understand why so many are still taking issue. Its not like it was one or two clubs forcing everyone else to do it.

They didn't have a louder voice. It was a vote.

I agree that it shouldn't have been restarted, but solely because of the contract issues.

Many clubs have lost a significant number of players that would have still been playing for them if the season hadn't paused, and it's not fair.

I think I put up a thread mentioning that Ayala leaving could be a disaster , but it wasn't really agreed with.
Anyhow, let's get over it and not lose at Wednesday.

Now if Adam Reach was to score the winning goal. 😟

I agree it shouldn't. Our squad has been corrupted, and others too. Ayala, Moukoudi, Shotton devastated our defence. The integrity has been lost

Ironically if you zoom out... Coming back has actually helped the club (as long as we don't by some freak of nature get relegated).

We've now likely got Warnock which is a massive win for us at the moment.

Of the players who have left the only one we miss for next season wasn't staying anyway (Ayala).

There's also the fact that every club is going to have the opportunity to pick up some genuine talent on the free transfer market and we might even see silly money season disappear for a year (outside of the prem elite)

Is Reach still there?

SmallTown, stop getting upset when people don't agree with you mate
Amused more than upset! I hear the "it's all about money/tv" argument a lot. No one can actually explain why though. I always find it funny when people make claims based on gut feelings that fall apart when asked why they say that!
