How?You can't, but you can disincentivize.
Sound like your talking to my dadI have a ‘friend’ on my Facebook who I used to have an awful lot of respect for but over the past couple of years has got lost down so many big rabbit holes, absolute conspiracy theorist nutjob who must post a good 10-15 easily debunakable posts a day.. at first I tried to reason and have a decent debate with him but he’s the classic pidgeon playing chess.
Anyway he’s currently in the middle
of a 30 day Facebook ban for one too many bull sh1t posts .. in that time we’ve seen the Government implode, Boris resign and the hottest day on record .. gives me great pleasure to know he will be seething that he can’t spew his bile all over social media about it.
I only follow him now to keep my blood pressure up!
This is what we’re dealing with in todays world
Increased tax.
Like they did in China.
Yeah I wasn’t advocating it, just explaining to Randy how a government could disincentive it.China is now desperately trying to reverse the impact of that policy now though.
Japan and South Korea are also badly suffering from a declining birth rate too, and theirs wasn't legally mandated.
The problem with having a birth rate below replacement level is that old people are living a lot longer.
At a certain point there will be more retirees than working age people and the cost of paying for the elderly won't be easily supportable by the working tax payers.
Obviously that's not the fault of the elderly, but it's a genuine problem that countries are facing around the world, despite the obvious benefits to the environment of there being fewer humans on Earth.
It's something rich people/businesses do - paying additional money on top for doing things that people with less money can't afford (i.e constant flights around the world ) and/or allows big companies to carry on with pollution on the basis that it somehow justifies (but doesn't reduce) the negative effect it might have on the environment by planting a couple more trees somewhere else. Guilt tax.How does carbon off-setting work?
Aah, like an “I’m alright Jack” type thing? It's something rich people/businesses do - paying additional money on top for doing things that people with less money can't afford (i.e constant flights around the world ) and/or allows big companies to carry on with pollution on the basis that it somehow justifies (but doesn't reduce) the negative effect it might have on the environment by planting a couple more trees somewhere else. Carbon offsets are a scam - Greenpeace International
Carbon offsetting is truly a scammer's dream scheme. We need real climate not action, not greenwashing.www.greenpeace.org
Yes - Andy is a perfect example of the worst kind of hypocrite. Someone with money who thinks they can justify trawling round the world on planes by waving a wad aroundAah, like an “I’m alright Jack” type thing?
will it harm it an dare you obliged to read it?So will posting on a football message board have any impact on global warming, because this is becoming a pretty long thread
I'm sure there are hundreds of ways to do that. By removing support beyond two children. Now of course there are side effects to that, but the biggest issue facing the planet right now is the effects of population growth, but I'm happy to hear about alternative ideas...How?
You could just let people be peopke.I'm sure there are hundreds of ways to do that. By removing support beyond two children. You could.....................but look where that has got us! Letting nature take it's course will wipe us out and take plenty of other animals with usYou could just let people be peopke.
the problem is an expectation that our economies will always continue to grow, relentlessly. That requires more people to sell too, and it's unsustainableChina is now desperately trying to reverse the impact of that policy now though.
