The Hot Weather Madness

I think you'll end up arguing with yourself Randy as I'm at a loss as to what answer you are hoping to hear.
People have pointed out why population growth will impact the pace of climate change, how some countries have tried to limit population growth and how nature or wars will ultimately reduce numbers if we don't do anything.
I'll guarantee that nobody here will suggest anything along the lines of what you have been intimating at times.
You were one of the ones moaning about lockdowns saddling future generations with the bill and as far as I can see, you're not overly concerned about population growth making that future even worse.
Once again, as in the pandemic, you seem to have a bigger issue with the older generation than you do with the issues being discussed at times.
The real issue is you get down to the nitty gritty is how it effects Randy and his perceived concept of freedom.

Laws have always dictated how the people act and always will

With a population of 1.4 billion it's not worked has it? India also has a population of over a billion people too.
Without knowing much about it, I think it probably has worked. There are many numbers above 1.4 billion. Maybe China would have a population of 2 billion or more if they hadn’t of had the 1 child policy.

I'm not concerned with something that ultimately nature has the final say on when it comes to reproduction. What I am concerned about is governments been giving the powers to prevent natural reproduction.

We could cancel all IVF treatments around the world? Good luck in spinning that one to the wider population, especially those who's only option of having kids is the IVF route.

Moaning about lockdowns? Yes because they were so successful weren't they? Just moved the problem along, see what's currently happening in New Zealand.

Or moved the problem along until we had vaccines and treatments that'd make survival a lot more likely?

Nobody has even suggested that governments should have the power to forcibly restrict reproduction. They have however told you about mechanisms that governments have tried in other countries.

mmmm, not sure we are the only ones with a second wave tbh, and remember we are always 12 hours ahead 30years behind, so just catching up I guess.

Been following this with interest.

I've got 3 daughters, from 27 to 24, and none of them want kids in the current situation. Worlds going to hell in a handcart and they just don't want to bring kids into the world.

I'm sure they won't be the only ones thinking like this (mind bit difficult for the eldest unless she adopts as she is transgender)

Lockdowns were massively successful. They may have moved the problem along, in your words, but they moved it to a time when there were vaccines and treatments. The death toll from covid is awful, but it would have been horrific if we hadn't had lockdowns.

Yes and that's their choice NZ. Not something made illegal or financially punished for.

@sherlock1969 massively successful in playing a huge part in the current cost of living crisis I agree.

And not having lockdowns would have had played a huge part in a cost of dieing crisis.

I just don't get you at times. Unless of course you are so libertarian that you believe that people should be allowed to do whatever they want and suffer the consequences. Unfortunately that'd mean that others would suffer too, but what the hell eh? As long as you're alright Jack springs to mind.
