The Gazette is finished the Northern Echo is the go to paper/website for Boro news

All newspaper groups (I think it's Reach that own the Gazette) are cutting costs as their profits decline. I too noticed the disappearance of Dom Shaw who was supposed to be head reporter of Boro news. Now we're down to Craig Johns whereas only a few years ago there were four reporters. The poor guy probably gets paid a pittance, yet is constantly criticised and is expected to do the job of four - I don't envy him one bit.

On Cattermole, I think that was just a stupid rumour run rampant and sports reporters will follow any lead with no fear of litigation if they get it wrong. It also wouldn't surprise me if Cattermole helped the rumours along as a means of taking the pressure off Leo - Leo certainly had a smile on his face when asked directly during the presser. Now I'm just starting rumours - might as well as everybody seems to be at it.

EDIT Several posts appeared while I was typing this - must get faster.
4 reporters covering one club, they deserve to go bust.

I’ve just read an Echo article from Friday, in which it says Boro called a “temporary halt” to the managerial search before the Blackburn game. Why would they do this? Surely it’s an ongoing issue.

And this is part of the problem IMO; there is absolutely no communication or clarity from anyone involved in running the club. What on earth are they doing back there.

I was told by a good friend, who has no reason to lie to me, that Cattermole, who is friends with his son, had told him he's got the job. I'd also been told that someone in Cattermole's family had said it's all total rubbish that he's even being considered. So, in short, I am not ITK, nor do I have a clue.

I wasn't making any judgement on you rico - just that people don't always tell the truth for any number of reasons. You get more cynical with age believe me.

The obvious reason for that IF it's true , is that Gibson thinks Leo could turn out to be more than temporary. Maybe he changed his mind again after saturday, or not.

It's doing my head in now. I will be gutted if we have another week of Leo, Cattermole and Liddle. Could cope with it maybe if we get an update from the club but the silence is deafening

i think its difficult for maddo as hes still employed by the club, he knows far more than he can let on. For instance I am convinced there's a committee selecting the team and formation i don't think its Leo's pick at all,
The gazette have been abysmal for years the disgusting xenophobic hatchet job, on Victor Orta when he left was one of the worst pieces of journalism i have ever read, even worse was i am sure it was done at the behest of the club.

If you listened to Tees on Saturday night with Dana Malt with them it was far from positive. I think people have an idea and stick to it.

The one thing I don't understand on the Gazette is Dom Shaw. He is the Boro Editor but never writes an article. It is always Craig Johns. That seems strange.
who the hell is dana malt, and why is she on every week,

Alex Ferguson on journalists. This is the rant I would give to the editor or the Gazette after reading the propaganda tripe publishe…

The Gazette is ran out of Newcastle. There's only Dom Shaw fighting the corner for Teesside at the Gazette now.

She also does a spot in FMTTM.

I've only caught a few of the post-matches this season because I tend not to listen when we lose, but I liked her contributions, it's nice to have some in depth fan opinion on it.

Usually just reading out aggressive texts and tweets whilst waiting for the manager to interview otherwise.

She's a host of the very popular Boro Breakdown podcast, does a lot of work for other podcasts as well.

Why the aggression?
I'm not sure it was aggressive.
We have an employee of the club as Expert Summariser. He can't openly operate in the post match section where he has a real conflict of interests where there is criticism of the club.
Then there is Paul Addison who sneers at any critic of the Club.
Now we have Dana, to make up the cast of "All kinds of everything". I genuinely don't see why she is on as a fixture now. Former player? Former manager? Football expert? Skilled journalist?
If there was a rolling slot for a fan to be included then fine, she could take her turn, but an ongoing regular?
