The days between Boxing Day and New Year

Hate to say it, but I love them. I seem to spend my whole year running around at a million miles an hour for one reason or another, and the dreaded work inbox is always sat heavily on my shoulder. These are genuinely the only days I can get proper downtime and watch movies, read books and waste the days away without anxiety ruining everything.

I agree. I find it the most relaxing week of the year. Not interested in anything being open. Just quality time with the family for me and forget about work, shops, etc. Appreciate not everybody wants it that way.

I was back at work yesterday and will be today and half day fri and sat morning.....so looking forward to then not being back at work until Wednesday!!

I was back working yesterday (although not doing much). I much prefer Boxing Day and the days leading up to New Year over Christmas.

It was pretty miserable yesterday!

I don’t mind them so much. I “worked” yesterday but it was pretty quiet. I’m now back off until Tuesday.

Will spend a bit of time with the missus and daughter today. Popping in to see some friends who we’ve not caught. Then tomorrow me and the Wife are going for a few drinks and a meal as the bairn is staying at Grandparents.

Sure the darts and racing will keep me entertained in between times

It's my favourite period, spoilt by the weather so far this time. Have some nights out and visit people, get some mountain biking done. Boro matches, darts on TV, record fair in Boro etc.

I love them. Never take them off work. Never any work to do.
I’m back in today, working from home, will roll the mouse on the laptop occasionally, to keep my Teams light on, also got told if you keep a YouTube video running, that keeps it looking like you are online…🤣
I know it's probably a joke but you should be aware that teams has built in activity reports and lot of workplaces use remote monitoring software to know what employees do with their time, so even using physical products like key pressers and mouse jigglers won't make it look like you're busy if you aren't 😂

I had to go through a process about 10 years ago as a member of the team I managed got caught printing a bet out. Had to request his access history and even then it showed a dashboard of what strange visited, how long for, keystrokes per hour, documents opened etc, imagine now it can tell you all sorts. In teams I know there is reporting on productive time and can summaries how many chats, apps opened, files opened, meetings smartened, average meeting length and so on.

Probably doesn't matter when it's quiet like now but worth knowing 👌🏻

Back at work yesterday, today and tomorrow, but once I'd checked the servers and systems were up and running I answered one email. I don't know why the business bothers opening, most of our customers seem to think we're closed. We've cut down to just 9-3 hours even so...

On the plus side I get three days off in "glorious" January! 🤷‍♂️

glad you are all enjoying it with your families.

Try being on your own.

Effing miserable weather this year making it worse. Who wants to go out in this?

And I’m also annoyed Boro’s fixtures are two away games that I had no chance of gettting ticket for. And a home game on NYD.

Bah humbug.

Oh and I’m stuck at home today waiting for a parcel to come.
