* The Championship Play-Off Final 2022. Huddersfield Town v Nottingham Forest *

Here’s hoping there’s a significant bonus payment to Boro for Forest promotion as part of that revamped Spence loan arrangement👍

and surely not a yet-to-be-revealed £10m buyout😱
I doubt we are that daft! Then again 😂

I think what makes the 1st one worse is that Toffolo was booked for diving and so VAR was never likely to overturn it. Had Moss not determined it was a dive then I reckon VAR would have given it.
As for the 2nd, well who knows why we bother with VAR if they can't overrule the ref and say "Oi mate, you got that one wrong".
Moss also had a poor view of the second one yet the VAR check seemed to be over before it started.

Two clear penalties for me, VAR is ruining the game
Without VAR - the result is exactly the same....

Those decisions are exactly why VAR is needed and needs to be improved.

The refs need to have mics so we can hear the conversation between VAR and pitch official. Ideally with the VAR feed being played on the big screen like in the rugby.

Two teams that despite their season managed to look bang average today.
The good thing is that there doesn't at this point appear to be a stand out obvious choice for auto promotion next season.

Watford maybe? If we can get the recruitment right then we can give it a right go. Of course another 12 or so clubs will be saying the same.

Today's game just showed what a poor league it is in terms of quality.

Forest were a better team than they showed today too much pressure normally for a classic match

Not sure about Huddersfield, they were physically athletic against us but we were awful at the Riverside.

Again it will be competitive division, January transfer window got Bournemouth home and sank us.

I think the biggest threat next season will come from Norwich. The majority of their squad have achieved promotion at least once before and Dean Smith knows what he’s doing in the Championship. Guess it depends if they keep hold of Pukki or not, but they have some good players.

Is there not a chance they have yoyoed too many times for the hard slog of championship some of their players must have been promoted twice and relegated twice.

I think they'll offer less than anyone else, hoping that Spence forces the issue. Possibly with a bigger sell-on clause.
I don't think Spence or his agent has any real negotiating power. We set a minimum fee - say - £15m - and that's it. Hopefully a bidding war breaks out with 3-4 clubs.
Wilder has to big him up - great season, want him here at Boro, hope he stays etc, important part of our plans etc etc - and we can't make it look like we are desperate to get rid to put the dosh towards a rebuild......even though we will be.
PL clubs have more money than sense, one will hopefully be daft enough to make him our record sale.

Spence can refuse to sign for anyone except Forest.
