* The Championship Play-Off Final 2022. Huddersfield Town v Nottingham Forest *

I think what makes the 1st one worse is that Toffolo was booked for diving and so VAR was never likely to overturn it. Had Moss not determined it was a dive then I reckon VAR would have given it.
As for the 2nd, well who knows why we bother with VAR if they can't overrule the ref and say "Oi mate, you got that one wrong".

Well done forest.
On balance, for their excellent 2nd half to the season, perhaps deserved promo.
Get ready for plastic pint glasses and match tickets to get into pubs…

Does the team that comes 2nd and gets promoted get a cup awarded ? I've always found it odd that the winners of the 3rd place playoff get one 😗

Delighted to see forest go up at least they will have a go in the premier League if hudds went up they would stink out the top Division and go straight back down. I don't think Huddersfield will make it as high as the playoffs next season either.

I'd love to ask Colback why he needed to find his spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch after that penalty shout.
Good Catholic lad should be honest enough to confess surely?

Be a struggle as no parachute payments now.

Congrats Djed. Remember though your a Boro player and you ain’t going anywhere for less than 15 mill 😂
Here’s hoping there’s a significant bonus payment to Boro for Forest promotion as part of that revamped Spence loan arrangement👍

and not a yet-to-be-revealed £10m buyout😱

The first one is odd. The ref is correct to give what he sees and referee without considering VAR.

So he doesn't see the contact or sees the contact and thinks Toffolo initiates it. Booking Toffolo is the correct decision at that point.

VAR should then inform him that the contact came from the defender and that at worst he should be checking the monitor if VAR doesn't outright award the penalty. He can then rescind the card if he thinks his original interpretation was wrong. Or he can award the penalty and, presumably, still give the card for diving.

Any way up, VAR should have either given the penalty or asked the ref to check the monitor.

The second one was a stonewall penalty that the ref missed so VAR should just have called it.

Huddersfield have been sorely let down (and I wanted Forest to win).
