I don't get involved in your emotional argument nonsense, where were you when there was 8,000 excess deaths between October and December ? Oh right voting for Boris Johnson and his protection of the NHS. The irony.

A new naturally occuring virus is of course going to kill many thousands of people, mostly elderly, frail or with pre existing conditions. Yes those 3 facts still far far far far outweigh those who are healthy who have died from it.

I'm comparing the deaths in this country compared to the deaths in every other country in case you keep missing that point. You seem to accept our place at the deadliest end of the table. I don't know why, and I'm past caring. I'm angry that tens of thousands of my countrymen are dead. You aren't. That's fine

Oh and let's add to his strawman... What about the millions of unemployed people who are about to lose absolutely everything in the coming months. That they've spend their entire lives building.
The millions of families that will not be able to feed their kids.
The literal famines created by the decisions to lockdown western economies which threaten millions.
What about those people small town don't come to me about your fellow countrymen and not caring for them.

The fact that you either try and disprove or deflect from the fact we are one of the worst nations in the world for dealing with this shows you accept it. Good for you. I'm less sanguine about the deaths of ten of thousands of my own countrymen

No I believe the deaths of our fellow countrymen are made worse by our reaction to the virus turning the NHS into a Covid service and making people terrified of entering them.. It's you who starts the whataboutery but you don't even reference anything other than those. Go vote for Boris you clown.

That makes the excess deaths from covid even greater then if you think excess deaths in q4 had a knock on effect moving into this year

Or there were less deaths in Q2/Q3 2019 and our increase in the middle of lockdown is partially due to lockdown, stopping non essential hospital treatments and people staying home rather than going to hospital.

Lies , damned lies and statistics.

We now have well under excess deaths for the 5 year average yet still report many covid deaths. What does that mean?

It means less people are dying of other things than you would normally expect to see

One reason if they have already died

Another is people are not putting themselves at risk as much

I would say it’s a mixture of both
