The 9am figures not disclosed yet?

Doesn't look good for the roadmap. The big question is will it lead to another lockdown?

I think things would have to go disastrously wrong for there to be another national lockdown. They've spent too much political capital on stating that this will be the last one.

I can see the 21st June relaxations either being delayed or, perhaps more likely, modified to maintain social distancing and other such measures.

'The big question is will it lead to another lockdown?'

Why would there be? It has been proved the variant doesn't effect the vaccines, and those that have been hospitalised have been people who haven't been vaccinated. By the time June 14th comes around, which is when they expect to make a decision, we'll be looking at around 30 million people (fully vaccinated) and there is even more testing for this new variant. There was a story over 6 weeks ago about whether the country had already reached herd immunity, going by the number of vaccinations, positive cases that led to antibodies, by now you would expect there is herd immunity in the general population. If there is to be a lockdown then it should only apply to those areas where the variant is prevalent, it would be grossly unfair to put the rest of the country into another lockdown, and frankly I can't see the masses putting up with it.

By definition, if there was herd immunity in the country then the unvaccinated wouldn't still becoming ill and being hospitalised.

Also, it hasn't been 'proved' that the variant isn't vaccine resistant. The lab data would suggest that is the case, but it needs to be backed up with real world data (which will take several weeks) before that can be claimed.

Because unfortunately lockdowns keep a few happy whilst the majority have to suffer them. If the scum bags lock us down again there will be hell on. You can also say goodbye to your vaccine rollout too.

On a slightly different note Billy or bear or anyone else for that matter know of a good in depth online resource to learn more about logistical regression? I understand the basics but wasn't too know more?

Thanks.

Thanks.
It's not something I've needed to use in the past.

The basics here

There may be free on-line resources but at a hefty $37 this looks an interesting set of practical tutorials.

I have a hunch that the 21st June unlocking will be delayed by 3 weeks. There's lots of chatter about getting all over 50s double-dosed by the same date.
My hunch is based on us always being told that it takes 3 weeks for the vaccine to be fully effective from the date it is administered. So, 21st June + 3 weeks = 12th July 🤔
