Test and trace

For this to work it needs to have the full trust and cooperation of the nation, that they know they can depend on this and have their full trust in it and it’s intensions.

🤔

I was going to post the same thing, my trust in the government is lower than its been in any government I've known.

I'll be very sceptical about downloading this.

For track, trace and isolate to work from Monday, it would have had to have been rolled out a month ago to iron out the issues.

There is not a hope in hell that we will even have the framework in place for Monday. To be fair to Johnson he has been busy getting Cummings story straight all weekend.

We'll be lucky to have a basic track and trace, that actually works by the end of June.

Remember last week in PMQ's we were promised a world class track and trace programme? Starmer knew it couldn't happen, which is why he "wasted" 2 questions on this.

So have I got this right. We are not getting the app, at least not yet. Earlier in the pandemic it was said you had to be in the company of someone with the virus 10-15 minutes to catch it. Are we all going to be carrying stop watches around or are they just going to tell everyone and anyone to isolate as its easier. If thats the case you could potentially have a lot of people self isolating soon.
I understand we would be contacted by Track & Trace team but not know who we had been contact with who has the virus. Its not compulsory to self isolate so I can see that being taken with a pinch of salt.:eek:

I'm confused (again) also: if I'm positive I self isolate for 7 days, but if I'm just symptomatic, but not necessarily, positive it should be 14? Are we removing 7 days of incubation period from self isolation if positive? Seems counter intuitive to me. As I say, I may have misunderstood
Didn't you mean negative initially Artie - I'm confused!

The fact that the government still hasn't rolled-out contact tracing is very worrying. If our response had been anywhere near as effective as it should have been then an effective contact tracing strategy would have been in place as cases began to rise, thereby reducing the spread, isolating hot-spots and reducing the need for such a widespread lock-down.

But once the virus took hold and started to spread any hope of being able to implement contact tracing was lost, which led us down the path of a longer than necessary lock-down and resulted in far more deaths than necessary.

So a lot on this board have already decided they are not going to partake, doesn’t really help fellas. Probably the same lot who will be on here in the coming weeks talking about his track and trace was an abject failure. Self fulfilling really, if you don’t give it a try it’s not reasonable to complain afterwards.

This government you voted for?!?
Mate, if explained my reasons, and again.

This is exactly the thing Evil was complaining about. You are clearly one of the culprits he was talking about who just judges a person on their voting record. Shame on you.

Noty a chance in hell I'm giving this government so much access to my data. No way. not until a get a clear GDPR certification for it and it passes google play store security tests, and the terms and conditions are acceptable.

It is a battery hog. Unlike the Google or Apple alternatives it needs app in the foreground with Bluetooth and location always on. Power usage was a major consideration for the Google/Apple decentralised designs. This is because they have done it before; they understand the importance of user experience (UX). The worst UX is having no battery left. I'd like to see the usage figures after a couple of weeks. We had the choice of Apple, Google or a man in a shed, who happens to be Cummings' mate. No prizes for guessing the winner.

This is exactly how Nazi Germany started!
