Ok - still doesn’t explain why there’s nearly always a conservative government if it’s centre to leftCentre to left, not centre-left.

Because until the latest bunch of nutjobs, the Tories have generally been seen as centrist.Ok - still doesn’t explain why there’s nearly always a conservative government if it’s centre to left
I was on here before that and if anything the board was more left-wing in the early days. There was plenty of politics on here but with Blair's New-Labour in power the mood was far brighter. There was always an undercurrent of left-wing disapproval though - especially post September 11. The big difference was the lack of any real right-wing presence. The odd numpty that came along with BNP drivel was quickly booted.Been on here since about 2005 used to be working class Boro fans chatting football and having a bit of craic with the odd wind up or funny story. Definitely been hijacked a bit by the anti Tory anti Royals brigade with some pretty unpleasant and patronising comments.
I’d say post what you want mate… whether that be negative or positive…. Because if every one posted what they wanted I believe the good would far out weigh the bad!Spot on Redwurzel. I think very carefully what I post simply because it feels as if there are folk ready to pounce at any opportunity.
Fair enough. I guess this has always been a left leaning board. But it's also the board of a working class towns football team. You have to say that should be the majority. If you're working class and you support the Tories then, by association you hate your own peopleThat is true, but back during the 2010, 2015, 2017 and 2019 elections there was always huge anti-Tory sentiment on here too.
That's a really bleak thigubt if true. It would show a staggering level of ignorance of colurrent affairs to still support tory at the moment. Maybe we need to do better at educating people and teaching them what's happening in the country?I just suspect that when it comes down to it (voting) and looking back through history, that people don’t trust the Labour Party to run the country. That’s how i see it going when the time comes for people to go to a polling station.
You mean a bit like you are trying to do with that post?Back on topic, and away from the political hijacking, "flagshagger".
Another example of unpleasant posting by some on here.
Disagree with something and you get labelled. Another attempt at shutting down the debate and forcing your own opinion.
You can't have been looking very closely back then. It's always been this way. Back then the pro Tory/anti Labour voices were more prominent than now. I wonder where they've disappeared to. And why?Been on here since about 2005 used to be working class Boro fans chatting football and having a bit of craic with the odd wind up or funny story. It's generally an anti Tory area though. Even with Tory government and MP's we've usually had labour councils. That is true, but back during the 2010, 2015, 2017 and 2019 elections there was always huge anti-Tory sentiment on here too.

RubbishI’d say Fmttm is its own micro climate compared to what the majority of the U.K. population actually think in general
I thought you had no interest in politics....If the country is centre left then why has there been a right leaning government for the majority of the last hundred years
