So what does wilder do first

I wonder if he'll recall any of the loan players, that's if we can. Spence and Wood could definitely fit into his wingback/wide centre back style of play.
Not sure what anyone’s seen in Wood to suggest he’s anywhere near yet. Is he still bench warming at Hibs?

Where would you strengthen as a priority if you were him and what about in goal as Daniels appeared to play well yesterday.
Central midfield. We have some decent players there but collectively we often tend to get overrun at times. This might just need tactical adjustment rather than personnel.

Luke freeman AM
Chris Basham CH
Jack Robinson LB
Ben Osborne LM
All OOC June at Sheff Utd.
Loan players to target for the weak spots
Keeper
LCH
CF
Make someone Captain and Leader. Basham would fit the bill.

It’s not difficult is it, a big team talk ala Ted Lasso

“I like my 2nd halves like I like my Sunday mornings, nothing happens”

Not getting why people want Howson out of the team. One of, if not the, most consistent players we have.

We need to get Bola fit - no natural left back or natural left wing back for me except him.

We need cover in this position.

Spence seems to have improved of late possibly recall him in January.

Would give Daniels a chance to January but would suggest we need a keeper. Stojanovic may actually be more a Wilder keeper than the other 2.

If he wants to play the same as has in the past we will need a fit left footed centre back capable of getting up and down the pitch.

We will need a play maker who sits deep ( he loved Norwood) we don’t have anyone capable.

He also likes a link man between the striker and midfield ( McGoldrick) who for me would be someone we should br targeting. Tremendous footballer at this level.
Crooks could potentially be his Norwood, tougher but a bit less passing ability or howson because he has more vision than Norwood even

McGoldrick was improved hugely by Wilder, from the Ipswich version.

And that's what Wilder has done, taken seemingly average players and taken them to the next level.

I don't think he'll be looking to sign anyone until he's assessed the current lot, some of which I think will surprise us.

He will drop payero workrate over skill is his mantra. As for McGoldrick i seen enough of him to know he is a willing runner and little else very similar to tavanier in that respect.

Payero works hard. He’s displayed that under Warnock. As for McGoldrick you couldn’t be more wrong. He’s a technical player capable of linking the midfield with the striker and very intelligent. Like a Poundland Dennis Bergkamp if you will. He is a very very good player for this level. Hope we are in for him me.

If he’s been lined up for 2 or 3 weeks I would imagine he’d be quite au fait with the squads strengths and weaknesses, I would imagine he feels he can improve the results in the short term with the squad he has at his disposal.

He has a track record of improving teams he’s managed and won promotion with all bar Halifax, who he was in charge of for only 6 months, I believe his strengths are developing a system and then finding the best players to execute that plan, I thought Warnock would do the same but it often seemed square pegs in round holes.

The league is still tight and if he can improve us over the next 8 games to get into the top half of the table then January could see a couple of signings that allow him to fully put his stamp on the team.

He inherits a better playing squad than Warnock and we have several young players that most managers would love to have the chance to develop, it’s a shame that it didn’t work out with Warnock but I’m hopeful Wilder will make the tweaks needed to get a bit of consistency and solidity to a squad that shouldn’t be in 15th place in the Championship.
