Snake oil salesman Cummings in the sh*t

I think this post sums up what the outrage is about - lefty’s still whinging about brexit. Yes he broke the rules yes he should be sacked but that’s where it ends.

Why does any criticism of Tories or Tory Government, even if it’s completely fair and legitimate, bring out the same usual suspects claiming it’s just lefties or remainers whinging?

I think you’ll find there are plenty, millions in fact, of Tory voters who are equally as disgusted by Cumming’s actions and the Governments shameful and shambolic handling of the whole sorry debacle.
Heck, even some prominent Brexiteer Tory Mps are in that camp. Are they whinging lefty remainers too??

The govt blanket defence this morning is frankly laughable claiming Dominic is a stickler for the rules.

This he abides by the rules mantra he stayed in the same place after moving 260 miles it’s desperate isn’t it.

The fact is Dominic Cummings IS the story now and that is never a good thing in politics.

Are you suggesting it should be one rule for them and one rule for others? Interesting!

No, I’m not suggesting that.
In answer to your initial question, I have not broken a single lockdown rule or guideline.
I’ve even found it quite easy to do that, despite being a shift working key worker.

Btw anyone, anyone at all who has been fined cautioned warned or in some way penalised during this time I’d be straight to my lawyer.

as this now makes this null and void.

That’s fine - I agree he should go - but people need to be honest - do you want him to go because of what he has allegedly done ( there seems to be many versions) or do you want him to go because of who he is and because he successfully masterminded brexit and a 80 seat majority. Just saying the vitriol for what he has supposedly done does not match the crime he has committed.

Because it is a stupid question. The architect of lockdown has blatantly broken the rules to make a 500+ mile round trip (possibly two or three times) whilst his wife lied that he was bed bound the whole time, and you are going to use two trips to the Co-op as a mitigating circumstance.
It’s not a stupid question - from what I see on the streets ,tv I dare say a percentage of this board have made worse breaches of the lockdown rules than Cummins has.

They haven’t set the guidance and advised the government on the rules. Do as I say not as I do!

Has anyone on this board broken the lockdown rules/guidelines? Honesty required.

I went to M&S instead of Morrisons a few weeks ago. That involved driving an additional two miles just so that I could experience their superior garlic bread. Thank god I've come clean. The guilt was kiling me.

My resignation will be on your desk first thing in the morning.
Is what DC should have said to BJ.

Why on earth are you trying to salvage something from this? Your desperation is plain to see.

It's not though is it? This is significantly worse than this.

He repeatedly broke rules designed to stop spreading a highly infectious and deadly disease. The entire cabinet is defending him. It's about politicians putting careers ahead of the lived of their constituents.

I assume you can see that but don't care? If so I suggest you need to have a look at your moral compass.

I find it interesting Cooper that you try to defend Cummins' action by suggesting parents would offer as would you. Do you have some evidence of this, or is this just you guessing.

So you are essentially comparing fact with supposition, pretty worthless comparison, in my opinion.

I don't think people on this board are enraged, I think there is a sense of wry humour at the situation. If you had lost a loved one and were forbidden to attend a funeral, or couldn't have one last visit with a dying husband, wife, child or parent, I suspect you would be absoloutely and rightfuly enraged by Cummins behaviour and the resulting rallying around of this worthless tory cabinet.

If you read the actual post from yesterday I said MY parents would insist on me taking my 5 year old to them in the situation that both and my partner might be unable to care for her and that I also would do the same if I had grandchildren. Whether you take them up on that offer is another matter. Not sure how you define that as defending but the subsequent Posts after seemed to suggest the same would happen in their families but they would you but the parents at risk therefore I suppose yes there was some evidence to support that.

Your judgment seems to be more clouded by his past achievements than anybody criticising him, to be honest mate.

FatCat you've persisted with this line across two days now. Posters have explained their reasoning as to why they are unhappy with the actions taken by Cummings and it boils down to him doing something that the rest of the population were explicitly instructed not to do by his employer.

What is it you are not understanding here?
