Snake oil salesman Cummings in the sh*t

It’s not a stupid question - from what I see on the streets ,tv I dare say a percentage of this board have made worse breaches of the lockdown rules than Cummins has.

So from your observation of the streets you can conclude that the people you see have done worse than place a child in a car and drive nearly 300 miles and lie about it in the press?

That’s fine - I agree he should go - but people need to be honest - do you want him to go because of what he has allegedly done ( there seems to be many versions) or do you want him to go because of who he is and because he successfully masterminded brexit and a 80 seat majority. Just saying the vitriol for what he has supposedly done does not match the crime he has committed.

Fatcat
I don't want him to go for doing what he did. I think it is legitimate for people to think about their kids and choose a course of action they think is right regardless of government advice.

The reason he has to go is the fact is he is the architect of the advice, wasn't open about it, knows it was wrong but has come out said it's all kind of ok. No apology, no nothing - total and utter disrespect for those who have made huge sacrifices.

The Guardian and The Mirror have played a blinder here. Tories rush to defend him, then more revelations. Their problem is - what else is to come?

I previously thought nothing would happen to Cummings, but this kind of momentum is very hard to stop. I imagine he’ll be “removed officially” but still doing his dirty work in the shadows for a period before gradually being reintroduced as if nothing has happened.

Let’s not beat around the bush here his actions have been in a direct contrast to his own advice designed to save lives, people have died on the back of this advice and many more have had to endure emotional turmoil only to see the one man behind it all just disregard the whole thing.

it’s Absolutely shocking.

Johnson won the election because he borrowed Nigel Farage’s popularity by saying he would get Brexit done whilst masquerading as a mainstream Conservative. Cummings has had a lot of undeserved credit in my opinion.
No, he needs to go because he has broken the rules and failed to set an example in a country where Covid19 deaths are through the roof.
It doesn’t help that he is arrogant, tells lies and won’t apologise.
I see your own Tory mps want him gone now.
The house of cards is crashing down around you.

I'm hoping this is the strategy here. Drip, drip drip.
The Tories also know DC is an accident waiting to happen. If he survives this one there will be another one and another one.

Its a fine balance - he smashed the Brexit vote out of the park and won them a landside. As someone so close to cabinet members and a so called genius on digging up dirt on others..... you just wonder what could be at stake for Johnson, Schapps et al if he is forced out and shouts his mouth off.
Don't forget DC is on record saying basically MPs are a bunch of eejits and the whole place needs reform.

BBC ....

It comes after prominent 1922 Committee member Steve Baker first said this morning Cummings "must go".
Other Tory MPs include:
William Wragg, MP for Hazel Grove, has retweeted Baker's criticism of Cummings.

Dominic Cummings broke the rules of lockdown he helped envisage. He got exposed and if at that point he had the humility to hold his hands up and apologise, then him keeping is position becomes tenable for the PM.

Instead we got an arrogent response from him and a government go on full defence to circle the wagons to protect him, an unelected adviser. Going as far as to totally undermine and re-interpret lockdown guidence to justify his actions as well as effectively call Durham Police, liers.

It should not matter if you're left, right or centre in your political stance, this is just wrong and he should go, as should all of the ministers who helped defend the indefensible.

They will pay for his silence. He didn’t invent Brexit, he seems to have somehow taken credit for it. Brexit is something 17 million people wanted.

That reg number is significant though as his number will be classified even sky blurrred it out so it’s not an easy number to obtain.

not proof in itself but it adds weight to the story.

Well I presume that’s aimed at me.
1 I don’t spend half my life on here so not sure why I’d be on here before 10:45am on a Sunday morning.
2. Just to correct you I didn’t say I do the same. I said parents would offer and take the risk and I would offer when I got older if I have grandchildren but the rage means people don’t read things properly
We`re not interested in what you think or say.
The Senior Adviser to Great Britains Prime Minister has broken his own rules at a time when 50,000+ people have lost their lives due to the most serious disease since the last century.
The fact that he is a hypocrite and the Prime Minister is complicit in the lies, is what matters this morningf.
Tory MPs, inluding Mr Baker - who is a member of the Tory 1922 Committee, are enraged and the knives are out.

As an apologist for this rag bag of chameleons, charlatans and Eton rifles, you should get up before lunchtime and smell the hot water - after almost three months there are some who cant afford coffee.
