Six nations starts today!!

Looking forward to strutting across town tomorrow for the wooden spoon decider! But yeah this one should be a corker. Ireland must have the edge on homefield advantage alone. Need to be more disciplined than against Wales

That was a great game of rugby with both teams giving their all. I think Atonio yellow could have been red on another day but as a neutral, I am glad it wasn't. Ireland will go on to win the 6 Nations now and I truthfully cannot see anyone stopping them from doing the grand slam.

Now on to Scotland v Wales. Let's hope for a Scotland win.

I thought he was a gonner too. Both refs today have given head shots that are usually reds under the modern rules. Two lucky players! Ireland looked imperious. I'm the same, can't see anyone stopping them. Let's face it they have already played their two hardest games and been solid through them. Much tighter and more disciplined than they were against Wales too. That world's number one spot is well earned

Yeah. Always try and get one or two matches in a year. And Italy is so much cheaper and easy to buy! Looking forward to it though
We haven't bothered trying to get tickets for Murrayfield the last few seasons but after attending a funeral with the lads I use to go with, we are talking of going again next year.

It is easier for us to get tickets for Murrayfield.

I watched Ireland v France and what a game of rugby it was. The Irish are fantastic right now. They are genuinely the best team in the game. If they maintain their form the World Cup is a distinct possibility for them.

England could face a total hammering this year in Dublin. Similar to the game at Croke Park.

Smith dropped 😥

Only one one quins fly half palying today then.

Actually nervous about today's match. It could tell us how far we have fallen.

Although Scotland's dismantling of Wales made me feel better about the Calcutta cup defeat

Is there a more pointless game in international sport than England Italy in the 6 nations. As it’s nearly always a blow out.

Great game to bounce back from but normally it’s a dire watch.

Disagree. There ahve been some good ones over the years. Italy can push us hard. And there is blood in the water today. They should go hard early. They may be winning by halftime

The stats say other wise

Those stats don’t give a true reflection of some of those games. England have been fortunate more than once against Italy. I remember a game where Borthwick was captain and England got away with one.

The Italians have played well at Twickenham a few times too. They’ve beaten Wales and Australia recently and gave an excellent French team a go last week. England need to be at it today.

I actually agreed with Smith getting dropped (as did many commentators in the game). Farrell is playing in his best position and we looked stronger for it.

Good pragmatic victory today.

Same. I have no problem with Marcus Smith not starting. His time will come after the World Cup. Farrell has to start at 10.

Pragmatic is the word when picking Farrell over Smiith isn't it? He's a much more limit3d, much less exciting player. I guess he is consistent though. I think it's the quins bias in me but I'd much rather see and exciting Smith then s boring Farrell

I don't think he does have to. I just don't get how he is captain. He's good yes, but there are just better options. I don't want England to be staid and boring anymore
