Six nations starts today!!

Yeah it looked so much better. I'm hoping the Borthwick era will bring a bit more excitement back. Given the attack coach is the same one who gets quins playing pretty stuff it's a good sign.

I mentioned earlier that it was ironing out the creases, and I feel we have gone some way in doing that. A lot better on the eye than Eddie's England team.
Still silly sloppiness at times when in good position costing us. Happens too many times. Prime example at the end there, going off feet at the brakdown when deep in their half and looking for the killer try was just unecessary and they go straight yo the other end and score the winning try. The silly pens we give away like that really annoy me to be honest. I’m feeling very irritated by that performance today just because it was much more positive in a lot of ways but we still find ways to hamper ourselves. Very frustrating also that we had a very crisp start to the second half to get 8 ahead and from the restart we immediately gifted then field position on the take mix up and they cut it straight back to 1 point. It’s unnecessary sloppiness and lack of care. I’ll calm down eventually.

One my back from the game now. Really good game. Absolutely love a match day at twickenham. Took my boys aged 4, and 3 months to their first ever match. Some positive signs for England going forward. Next live game will be fiji pre world cup.

Smalltown - What do you think of this article regarding Farrell?

Edit: I think it will come down to Smith or Farrell at 10 and another at 12. I mentioned yesterday that you could see Farrell stepping into Smith's space. You've watched a lot of Smith, do you think he's ready to replace Farrell?

Watched it this morning

Fair play to Scotland

But didn’t realise South Africa were in the 6 nations.

Ireland look well above Wales, Scotland and England. Ireland are stacked full of top quality and it’s obvious most of them play together for Leinster too.

As for England. It was a good game and England really should have won. The Coaches will be furious they couldn’t do a basic return after taking the lead. Catch it, set it up, clear and keep it tight for 5 minutes. The game was there to win and their own mistakes cost them.

The last two defeats by Scotland have been more about England shooting themselves in the foot than any outstanding Scotland performance.

Some good performances in the Scotland jersey yesterday and Van der Merwe's individual try was worth the entrance fee, but yes, England did shoot themselves in the foot.

Well, that's not the score you thought it was going to be after the French first score. France giving away too many penalties.

I just don't think it works. They are too much of a contrast.

I think you need to call: do you want consistent, no nonsense play? Then go with an 8,9,10 of, say Vunipola, Youngs and Farrell. Or so you want a bit more creativity and flair? Then go for Simmons, Van Portfleit and Smith. I don't think having Smith 10 and Farrell 12 works because they want to manage the game differently. Jonny Wilkinson said it's so important to have a 12 who thinks the same as you because it gives you chance to swap who's first receiver, bpince ideas off each other and keep a consistent approach to how you play the ball out the back

I agree it doesn’t work. Farrell I’d have back at No 10: where does that leave Smith? On the bench I’m afraid.
