Sheff Utd Forum

I'll be proven right regardless of whether we make the play-offs or not.

If Sheffield United beat Fulham, it is not going to be because Fulham battered a team 7-0.

The odds aren't on your side either.
We'd have had lower odds of reaching the play-offs if Luton had won tonight.
Yes, of course silly me you will be right whatever the outcome. 🤦🏻 I still hope i am wrong rather than predicting the outcome of 7th

It’s done now though. Now we are looking at 2 sets of results outside our own rather than 1. No matter how you dress it up, the fact is we are in a better position now for things to potentially go our way than if Luton won. The injuries etc and the dented confidence is also a bonus. Fulham’s high confidence and riding on the crest of a wave is a bonus too. There is no negative to tonight.
It is the hope that kills you

I will be.

Fulham beating Luton tonight has given us a better chance of reaching the play-offs, that is an indisputable fact.

If Bournemouth drop points tomorrow, I hope you'll revise your opinion that a direct rival getting beaten, remaining within reach and losing all goal difference advantage was "the worst possible outcome".

Why do you think it is better Fulham have nothing to play for

Will you if they win?

Because I think they'd have had nothing to play for anyway.

I also think that they're by far the best team in the league, and tonight's win will have reminded them of that after a bad run of form.

With neither team having anything to actually play for but pride, not even Mitrovics record. I hope pride wins but human nature has me fearful now

Nope, because I don't agree with your argument in the first place.

A 7-0 win will be infinitely better for Fulham's confidence and for putting doubt in Sheffield United's mind than a 4th defeat in 6 games would.
Sheff U fans already getting edgy on social media. If they don’t start game well I’m sure the edginess will transcend from stands to pitch

If they lost they may of had the title to play for, stop being silly

I think Fulham will want to put on a show for the last game of the season before they collect their trophy and do the presentation. I think they will want to pick up from tonight’s win and be as professional as they can in a very meaningful game for other clubs in the division. I don’t have any qualms about Fulham’s motives.

I'd be bricking it if I was a Sheffield United fan.

Injuries to key players and they're playing the best side in the league in a party mood.

Obviously I'd still sooner be them than us, as they've got the advantage, but it's a very nervy position to be in.
