Sheff Utd Forum

They're surely wanting Reading to beat Luton anyway?

It makes their result irrelevant unless Millwall absolutely destroy Bournemouth.

I still wish Fulham hadn’t won the title tonight. I really believe it was our best chance them having something to fight for. We are now relying on Fulham and Reading playing for pride when in truth, neither team has anything to play for. I think it was the WORST outcome possible 🤷‍♂️

It really, really was not.

If Bournemouth draw or lose tomorrow against the most in form side in the division, who've been on an unstoppable run since their manager took over, the title would have been confirmed even if Fulham had lost.

So we'd have gained no benefit whilst having one fewer team to chase.

Fulham have their mojo back and will want to end the season with a bang.

Tonight was absolutely brilliant for us.

I think it's one step at a time Col.

We need to come out firing on Saturday and put pressure on both Luton and Sheff. Utd.

I think 5th place is achievable.

tonights result put's luton at risk. I agree that sheff utd have an easier game now. Fulham have won the league. We needed it to go to the last game.
We still have to beat preston although the GD for Luton now makes it interesting.

I don’t look forward to an exchange on Saturday, but sadly the odds are on my side, I hope you are proved right though nonetheless

I'll be proven right regardless of whether we make the play-offs or not.

If Sheffield United beat Fulham, it is not going to be because Fulham battered a team 7-0.

The odds aren't on your side either.
We'd have had lower odds of reaching the play-offs if Luton had won tonight.

I hope you are right, yes we need to score early and put the pressure on, but I have been here far too often. I really hope both teams stay professional, but would you put in the extra mile and tackles just before your holidays? I expect Sheffield and Luton will, i doubt Fulham and Reading will do the same. I hope beyond hope I am wrong.

Unfortunstely after a big thrashing like lutons, majority of good teams bounce back so cant see reading winning now

It’s done now though. Now we are looking at 2 sets of results outside our own rather than 1. No matter how you dress it up, the fact is we are in a better position now for things to potentially go our way than if Luton won. The injuries etc and the dented confidence is also a bonus. Fulham’s high confidence and riding on the crest of a wave is a bonus too. There is no negative to tonight.
