Ultimately a sad thread about a UK child who was so disenfranchised that isis seemed like an option.

There are so many failings here, and they all start and end in the uk.
Lots of failings in the UK, undoubtedly, perhaps starting with the various parents involved, their wider family, then maybe a few of the so called religious leaders and some of their so called teachings. Maybe those are a starting point where responsibility to prevent her head being turned along with her so called friends and their responsibilities and behaviours, some of whom travelled and some that didn’t. 🤷‍♂️

Following that, then there is the school system, what went on there, were chances missed? I don’t know. The security services can’t cope with the sheer volume of people they have ’on watch’, let alone people they don’t. The internet is like the wild west and has little governance by numerous hosts. It is impossible to totally protect anyone who seeks out a different way. I am surprised minors (albeit she was only 6 months short of being 16, an age where people are deemed of suitable responsibiliy and allowed to claim homelessness, live independently, manage social housing accommodation and claim benefits and some adults want to widen the right to vote). She may have been a minor, but she was not an uneducated, feral waster by all accounts neither. The age of criminal responsibility starts at 10, lets not forget, not adulthood.

I really feel many mistakes are made in the UK generally too, the lack of funding in education and youth services is almost criminal in itself, but generally when you look around the UK and see the amount of ASB that is committed by minors, the significant numbers groomed by drug dealers and their like along with ‘out of sight out of mind’ parenting, it really is a national disgrace that many keyboard warrior parents are or may be guilty of to some degree themselves.

Do people think if she eventually comes back would be guaranteed a fair trial from a jury anyway? I suspect everyone already has a biased view one way or another. I am glad she isn’t coming back anytime soon as the ensuing media circus, her ability to sell ‘her truth’, the potential risk to others, the possibility of her radicalising others…….. it would be never ending. I suspect she will eventually return mind, her lawyers will find a loophole somewhere, unless the security services take care of her beforehand that is.

Say that didn't happen. What would she be facing justice for? As that seems to be the argument to bring her back so we can dish out some justice.
I'm not sure if she's committed any offence. I suspect the UK government is by no means confident they have any strong legal case, otherwise why not go through the courts. Here's a discussion of possible charges together with the difficulties prosecutors might face

Thanks for that. I asked in an earlier post this very question so found that enlightening and puts an interesting slant on it.

I think most people agree she will come back and should be our responsibility but who actually wants her back?

There’s plenty of people in this thread that obviously want her back, not sure how happy they would be if she moved in next door to them though 😜

A lot of time has gone into a programme called British Values - teachers have to do annual training about it, particularly on spotting children exhibiting extreme political values. When Ofsted call you are checked how you integrate it into your lessons. It doesn't pick up all children, but I am sure it helps with some. Youth service funding is very small now, but it is statutory. I went to a talk 10 years ago and the guy giving the talk had been made redundant from youth work and he said around 80% funding ws taken away around 2010. To me though the dominant force is the cess pit of of the internet, which is worse than the Wild West. I did a quick search the other day and found horrendous videos of beheadings, smiling ISIS members (it said) walking around carrying human heads in his hands by their hair, people been pushed off buildings, another one of a Jordian pilot being burnt alive in a cage. How is it allowed by the internet providers? Of course it originates outside the UK , but can end up is some 15 year olds bedroom in the UK.

I wouldn’t mind as long as she let me have unlimited access to lend her collection of baseball caps.

World has gone absolutely mad.

Person leaves country where preach hate is not a thing to join country/group which preaches hate on the country she left.

Who would want this woman / any relative of this woman to live in close proximity to them?

All the woke posters on this thread but who would actually put their hand up and say yes let this woman live next door to me and my children?

TBF I think most people are just saying she shouldn’t have her citizenship revoked. I wouldn’t want to live next door to Ozzy Osborne but I don’t think he should have his British citizenship revoked.

😴😴😴

They start with somebody who went to join a group with the sole purpose of dishing out terror to persons of the UK and other enemy states.
