Sao Paulo F1 Grand Prix Weekend

Thankfully Hamilton passed anyway despite the off track incident and the earlier weaving which is also not allowed. If Hamilton had not managed to get past, then I think that the Stewards would come under a lot more scrutiny. But thankfully the race was decided by an on track pass.

Verstappen cannot handle being overtaken, and is fighting tooth and nail for the title, and is quite prepared to run Hamilton off track to do so. However, Hamilton has done the same sort of thing against Rosberg in the past when they were fighting for the title.

Looking forward to the next race, and hopefully a last race title decider.
I just worry that Max hasn't been reigned in enough. The stewards gave him a free pass Yesterday and his team positively encourage any dirty trick you can imagine.

Saudi Arabia is going to be a very fast track AND a street circuit. If Max tries to run Lewis off the road again here it could end very badly indeed

Later, Hamilton said: "I was ahead initially. He held his ground and we both ran out of road. Well, he was running out of road so I had to avoid [him and] run out of road. I didn't think too much of it. It is hard battling and wouldn't expect anything less, really."

Pretty diplomatic from Lewis. Be interesting to see the on board!

Will Max need a new engine before the season ends? Seems to have used same one a long time.
Grid penalty coming up?

I think he changed his entire power unit already. Russia?

Also it seems the Honda engine is more reliable than the Merc. Bottas, Vettel, Russell have all taken penalties. Bottas twice

Lewis being the person he is was diplomatic.

Toto said what most people were thinking.

Yes the Honda engine is very reliable and doesn't suffer much deg at all.

The bookies can't split it neither.

Max is a shade odds on at 10/11 with Lewis evens to win the Championship.

Lewis is odds on fav to win at Qatar at 4/5, with Max at 6/4 this weekend.

Surely that's liberty media. Something stinks here
When this was a 5 second penalty earlier in the season, but going off the track trying to run another driver wide isnt even investigated it surely suggests somethings going on

As I always say, this is why the stewards should always be the same, not local (or well a mix of the different individual county bodies). You rarely get consistency and there is always a local bias, LeClerc getting away with running Hamilton off in Italy, Max getting away with running LeClerc off in Austria, a Finnish former driver getting Hamilton done twice for practice starts, putting a Finnish driver at an advantage etc.

Hamilton twice on Albon, and Perez & Lando a couple of races back all got penalties for not leaving racing room and causing either a collision or a competitor off the track.

It stinks that they are applied so differently, I'm pretty sure there's also a level of bottling it from the stewards, after the farcical scenes with Seb in Canada a few years back. Nobody wants the flak of maybe deciding a championship with a penalty call. But if you're not going to make the hard calls you shouldn't be there.

Danny Ric retired yesterday because of engine issues too so wouldn't be surprised to see both McLaren's take a new engine each for the next race. The battle they have with Ferrari is still tight and Ferrari brought engine upgrades in a few races ago.

Makes me chuckle when some suggest Lewis won because he had the fastest car.

If that was the case, then why was Bottas not 2nd or anywhere near close to winning?

He started on pole too.

It was a remarkable drive and will go down as one of the best.

Anyone suggesting otherwise doesn't really know much about F1 or they have a huge agenda against Lewis, or both.
