I said the fans treatment of Lewis is racism and is abhorrent and sick but that happens in those countries sadly.

my point is about how in this country in
Our media ( that’s the difference) we have an almost xenophobic obsession with painting sporting adversaries as some how underhand arrogant slightly sinister this was all alonspoint and it’s true not just in f1 look at football with Germany rugby with Australia and cricket.

But in motor sport I have heard countless f1 pundits demonise Fernando as awkward difficult to deal with etc yet he is one supposedly one of the most popular drivers in the paddock same with max.

they paint this narrative of them that leads to the vercrashen style insults.

it leads to this us v them attitude.
 
I will say this though who ever wins the f1 title this year be it Lewis or max will have earned it as both drivers have been tested to the limit.

and as f1 fans surely this is what we all want. Hopefully Ferrari and McLaren can join the battle next year.

Absolutely agree with this, but why the hatred towards one driver? Just enjoy the ride. It could be another 10 years before we get another season like this.

Like you say its what we all want as fans. Personally I would rather see Max win by 1 point than Lewis win by 100. Just hope it goes to the last race and is actually decided on track

We need to end all this he said she said as well FROM BOTH sides as Mercedes fans see only Horner as the bad guy and sane for red bull fans with toto but they are both as bad as each other.

let’s hope the title is decided on the track ( or even 2 metres off it 😜) and not in some Swiss court room 2 months after.

In all honesty I can’t really call it as yes max has the points but that pace today of the merc really shocked me. So I guess it’s game on.

They are, but things really need to be consistent. Plenty of drivers have had penalties for far less than that this season, so for it to be dismissed without even looking at the key evidence seems very strange to me especially for such a big decision.

Fully expecting the season will end in court cases/appeals etc which would just completely ruin it

Lets hope so, really thought it was all over with the gap in Mexico but today has completely turned it around. Think its partly due to that new engine which will loose performance over time but at this stage who knows. We are going to two tracks that we havent even raced on next just to add to it.

Rumours saudi arabia wont even be ready in time too

he’s referring to a demonising of the foreign driver in the Uk press that does happen here. Seb Michael ayrton now max all had it.

Err. I'm not sure whether I've missed the point of your thread but surely demonising foreign drivers because they are of a different nationality (ie race) is racism.
 
Its a great title race in which it has not happened for a while, the second drivers of the teams Perez & Bottas need to get closer on race day to influence the outcome of the championship, Perez is a good driver but has been put in the shade all year by Verstappen. I see Lewis and Max up top again in the next 3 races. The performance of that Mercedes gives Lewis the edge but Bottas needs to go with him, Think Lewis will just pip him.

It's not hatred of Max. The only man who hates on this thread is Zorro and its making him look silly.

Fact: Max crashed into Lewis in Monza. So it's proven he will.

And yesterday, did he lock up? No,he was fully in control of that car. And it went hugely off the track. The only possible explanation is it was a delibrate attempt to crash into the guy on his right.

If Max had squeezed Lewis and stayed on the track you might have had a case but he didn't, he went off too. A driver like that, in a car like that,only does that if it's delibrate

Oh man this is the funniest thing I've read on this site. A man who constantly derails threads with his blind hatred of Lewis.

I man so bitter he'll lash out at anything Lewis does and ignore Max when he does the same. A man so full of rage he says the most ludicrous and offensive things about one of the sports greats.

And he claims other people hate.

Thankfully Hamilton passed anyway despite the off track incident and the earlier weaving which is also not allowed. If Hamilton had not managed to get past, then I think that the Stewards would come under a lot more scrutiny. But thankfully the race was decided by an on track pass.

Verstappen cannot handle being overtaken, and is fighting tooth and nail for the title, and is quite prepared to run Hamilton off track to do so. However, Hamilton has done the same sort of thing against Rosberg in the past when they were fighting for the title.

Looking forward to the next race, and hopefully a last race title decider.
