Sam Greenwood

Isn't he from Sunderland originally? Looked a promising player but not quite the end product. A bit like Rogers in some respects.

Would be a very decent signing that
Really Mart, why?

He's tidy enough, but he's another small technical player with a good pedigree, no experince and barely ever scores.

No strength, no power, not a leader, not athletic. Is he substantially different to what Rogers, Gilbert, McGree etc can offer us?

If he comes in, is he going to influence games and fire us up the league? If we wanted him (to play 10 I assume) why sign Gilbert and Rogers getting on for two months ago?

I just don't see it at all.

I'd be pleased with that. Very tidy footballer, probably ahead of Rogers and Silvera in his development.

Agree he's not a leader or overly physical but presumably he's not being signed for that reason?

Had an excellent youth career, very highly regarded. 21 now, but only ever a bit part in Leeds, but they were a prem side, it's hard for a teenager to make your career as a teenager in the prem.

You can't have too many technical players, and he's hard working as well

I agree with you he's nice, but I'd have said a nice tidy young player with no great experience or goal threat who can play across the three we're pretty covered for?

Everyone seemed to be in agreement we need some experience, power/strength, tenacity, mental toughness, leaders etc. Not another small, lightweight technically nice kid with no experience or scoring/assisting record.

Smacks of a last few days desperation, who the ƒuck who might come type of signing? If we wanted him why not two months ago?

I can imagine us enquiring about him when we were after Rogers and Gilbert, but not sure he is the sort of player we need now. Need more goal scorers, rather than potential goal scorers.

But why sign three slightly worse players who plays where he does first?

Gilberts role at Brentford was largely left wing, Rogers was right wing. But they can both play 10. In fact I'd say Rogers is probably a 10. We need a squad, and if we are gambling on youth, we need to chop and change the in and out of the side with form.

Do we need some experience in the side? Yes, but that doesn't make him a poor transfer choice.

Big hmmmmmmm from me.

Need players - CB, CM, CF before another youngster in the "3". Experienced ones definitely preferred.

But, if he's one of 2-3 coming in, let's see what else happens.
