Everyone seemed to be in agreement we need some experience, power/strength, tenacity, mental toughness, leaders etc. Not another small, lightweight technically nice kid with no experience or scoring/assisting record.

As mentioned above, we need a squad. At present we have zero competition for Rogers at number 10, nor an alternate CF (I believe Greenwood can play in both of these positions).

Re power/strength etc - I'm not so sure that is what we need (and I would certainly doubt whether Carrick thinks so). This is not an old fashioned second tier squad we're assembling. It's a progressive, possession based side full of technically gifted footballers. If we get that right (and I'm not suggesting it's a "one window job") we will be fine.

Well if we do loan him you can guarantee that one of them, us or him didn't want it to be permanent. Saying that, I don't thin us or Akpom wanted to sell him, but it happened. Personally I think they are a bit of a mess right now, and if I was a young player I'd want out of that circus show.
