Sussex RNLI lifeboat crew ‘blocked from going out to sea’ by people angry at them rescuing refugees

The RNLI has confirmed an incident took place following claims Hastings RNLI lifeboat crew were blocked from going out to sea by people angry at them for rescuing refugees in the Channel.

I hope there are prosecutions against these racist idiots for endangering life.

good god there really is some vile scum at large in this country at the moment, the inexorable rise of the far right !
 
I've just had an argument at work about the migrant crossings, the majority here were in favour, in fact positively encouraging the drowning or the allowing of migrants to drown, this is small town Yorkshire mentality I'm afraid. One of these chaps was protesting "its my country keep these sponging c**ts out !" really losing it ! Needless to say I found it horrifying !

Yep, they walk among us, there are a lot of them and they've become increasingly vocal since 2016. Fed by the media on a daily diet of xenophobia, Brexit has emboldened them. If we had our own Kristallnacht right now, there'd be plenty of them out on the streets, doing to Muslim people what the Nazis did to Jews.

Views like that would probably not be tolerated in many companies, I'm surprised the daft get keeps a job down. Wouldn't want a clown like that working for me.

So you think that IF (which is what the poster said) we had our own Kristallnacht right now, the people who opposed BLM, stood outside of RNLI stations, comment on messageboards that we should let people drown in the channel, abuse muslims on public transport, attend far right rallies etc, would NOT be joining in with the state sponsored destruction ?

Why do you think they would draw the line there, but are happy to do some of the activities I've listed above?

[I originally posted a picture of the Syrian toddler who drowned [crossing the Med] trying to seek refuge: found a beach in Greece - but I have decided to delete it - a few posters have raised concerns about its potential impact on other posters mental health. Apologies if the picture caused anyone discomfort].

Since 2014 - 166 people have lost their lives crossing the channel to seek refuge in the UK.

i was about to post how the right wingers always keep off posts like this and that an observation of that 'discipline' needs to be acknowledged. (some who proclaim to be leftists, could do with a little of that self control)

then along comes a 'colin'.


obviously some can live with being 'racists', but calling them Nazi's is a step too far for their self proclaimed patriotic ways.
