Oasis reunion looking highly likely

A singer who can’t sing, overweight 50 year olds in too tight Fred Perry polos trying to relive their youth with everyone using their phones to record stick insects on the stage from 200 yards away. Hundreds of pounds for the privilege as well, including £10 for each pint of pishwater in a plastic cup.

Hell on earth.
You're not too far wrong except with the demographic. Those clamouring for a reunion are largely the younger fans I think, ie the ones who were barely out of nappies when Oasis split.

Think I was at that Etihad gig. 22-20s and Coral supported if I'm not mistaken? Potentially Doves? (was a long day ha!) It was filmed and shown late night on Ch4, you can see me pogoing about to My Generation at the end :)

Comments about the fans behaviour would put me off too - in two minds about NGHFB for that very reason although I'll probably go on my own if at all.

My 90s/Britpop tastes have definitely evolved over the years. Very Oasis/OCS heavy at the time but would put Suede, Blur and Pulp far above those two now. Radiohead far and away too although they don't tend to be mentioned as part of that scene.
HFB gigs aren't like that, not since he criticised the 'parka monkeys'.

Fancy goin' then Sub?

Was a big fan from day one, but they definitely declined as time went on.

Saw them at Wembley in 2000 and they were very good to be fair - Happy Mondays and Doves supporting made it a cracking day.

Mrs saw them at the iconic Maine Road gigs in 1996 and said - in her opinion - that blitzed the 2000 Stadium Tour. Decline setting in......?

I would definitely see them again - but £100 for a reunion tour ......nah.
Sunday night at Maine Road, was then and is still now the best gig I have ever attended (and that was without Rock n Roll Star in the setlist), it was in my humble opinion better than Knebworth and I always feel blessed that I was the right age at the right time.

I turned 21 in 96, so had put up with the crap music that the late 80's had to offer (all manufactured pop nonsense), was just old enough to appreciate The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays etc and then at the perfect age to embrace Ossis and everything the mid 90's had to offer.

Yes I still have a bucket hat, yes I still own a pair or two of Gazelles and amazingly I also have a calf tattoo, but more importantly I have a 14 year old son who lives and breathes Oasis. So if a reunion is announced I will be front of the queue and I will love every minute of it, from start to finish with my son.

Now where did I put that bucket hat..................................................................................................................................................

Don't agree with that and i think that post of Pak Do Ik's backs it up. Me and my mates all late 30 something would be there too.

Don't agree with that.
Well I know its an isolated example but PakDoIk's post certainly supports this claim.

I'm not suggesting no one older would be interested, but if people think it would be an exclusively 40-50+ event (like seeing Ocean Colour Scene) they're very much mistaken in my opinion.

If you're late 30s I'd imagine you didn't get to any of the legendary Oasis gigs? So yeah, can totally understand your appetite.

I think it would be a pretty diverse occasion (at least in terms of age :) ).

I'll put you down as a maybe for tickets then ?

I didn't get to Maine Road etc. but I caught Heaton park gig and a festival or two.

I think you’re right, I went to see The Stone Roses at Heaton Park in 2013 and that was full of 30-50 year old, all there for great day out.

Oasis would be different, look at Noel’s slot at Glastonbury, 80,000 people singing along to an oasis b-side. The demographic would be all ages and yes you would get us 45 (ish) year olds trying to relive our youth, but you would also get thousands of a new generation, those that just missed out on seeing them live (like I did with The Stone Roses) and those who have grown up listening to them because of their parents.

I`m 50 and would still pay hundreds to see them again

Hope it`s global though as I reckon there`s no chance of tickets in the UK

When you put it like that like.😀
Add to that the usual scenario (not just Oasis) of singing the first two lines then letting the crowd sing the rest you’re better off watching them on the telly.

Queue all the anti-Oasis fans flooding this post to tell us how awful they are and how they'd never go and see them. This thread isn't for you chaps.

They could sell out 5 days at Knebworth if they reformed and managed the hype properly.

If they reformed, I'd be there in an instant.
5 days at knebworth would saturate it for me. A weekend would be enough. Wembley, Manchester, Edinburgh, Dublin. Headline set at Glasto finish it off.
