Oasis reunion looking highly likely

I think (from memory) Liam hit him at the last gig he did. But met him a couple of years back. MacCarroll approached him and they reconciled. Bonehead expressed regret at how he'd been treated by the group
But yes Noel always slagged him off
I've read all the books, including Tony's. Two sides to every story I guess. Guigsy's sister (Mary) has an interesting take on it all.

First saw them at glastonbury mid nineties and they were amazing, seen them several times but by the last time at glastonbury they were going through the motions.

Would love to see them reform so my son and daughter-in-law could see them finally.

They were too young to see them back in the day, something I regularly wind my son up about as he loves their music.

Was a big fan from day one, but they definitely declined as time went on.

Saw them at Wembley in 2000 and they were very good to be fair - Happy Mondays and Doves supporting made it a cracking day.

Mrs saw them at the iconic Maine Road gigs in 1996 and said - in her opinion - that blitzed the 2000 Stadium Tour. Decline setting in......?

I would definitely see them again - but £100 for a reunion tour ......nah.

There were two Wembley shows on that weekend. One was broadcast live on Sky Box Office, the other was the recording of the Familiar to Millions LP.

I assume you were at the latter, as the former was horrific. Liam was paralytic and didn't sing anything properly, chuntering on about his divorce from Patsy all the way through.

I’ve seen them twice though they were past their peak by then. Think it must’ve been around 2001/02 at Murrayfield in Edinburgh and again in around 2006/07 at Manchester City.

I enjoyed both shows but the first one was spoilt by loads of tw*ts lobbing bottles of p*ss around, chucking full cans and bottles, crushing the crowd by surging forwards, there was people dropping like flies for the first half hour so. It was not pleasant. I was quite young and naive and realised loads of d*ck heads are about and can’t help but behave like d*ck heads.

Happy Mondays supported them so I was very pleased I got to see them. And Doves were on first.

The second time, in Manchester, really annoyed me because they ended on a Who song. All that stuff the crowd love(d) from the first two albums - and The Masterplan, a forgotten and/or overlooked gem IMO - and you end on a sub-standard Who song? Nah, not for me that.

I wouldn’t go and see them again. I went to see Liam Gallagher at Ally Pally a few years back and that was great. But I wouldn’t see Oasis again. It’s been and gone for me now.

You would think these shows will sell out in minutes. May even be broadcast on the BBC. Surely they’d do Knebworth, Manchester and Wembley.
Think I was at that Etihad gig. 22-20s and Coral supported if I'm not mistaken? Potentially Doves? (was a long day ha!) It was filmed and shown late night on Ch4, you can see me pogoing about to My Generation at the end :)

Comments about the fans behaviour would put me off too - in two minds about NGHFB for that very reason although I'll probably go on my own if at all.

My 90s/Britpop tastes have definitely evolved over the years. Very Oasis/OCS heavy at the time but would put Suede, Blur and Pulp far above those two now. Radiohead far and away too although they don't tend to be mentioned as part of that scene.

Must have been. They were definitely good and he kept the chat to an absolute minimum.

That's basically a singles collection isn't it?
I'd say there's a few poor tracks in there. Not a fan of 3, 11, 13, 14, 17 or 20.

That said, there's enough good album tracks and B sides that would make a playlist I'd want to hear. Slide Away and The masterplan immediately spring to mind.

Oasis were never top of my list of bands from that era, but there is enough nostalgia attached to their songs to make me want to see them again.

The cynic in me says the reunion was a certainty from the day they split. I don't mean it was deliberate, but the demand and money for a reunion was always going to grown over time and become irresistible

Queue all the anti-Oasis fans flooding this post to tell us how awful they are and how they'd never go and see them. This thread isn't for you chaps.

They could sell out 5 days at Knebworth if they reformed and managed the hype properly.

If they reformed, I'd be there in an instant.

More than 5. If that was the only thing they reformed for they could do 25.
