77 million loss in a year (allowed 105 million over 3 years)

28 million obligation to buy Lewis hall who they signed off the back of 9 games for chelsea and 1 x u21 cap for england

Did they think it would be that easy to win stuff?

Most people did. Last summer everyone on here thought they'd be challenging City and inevitably win the title and CL in the foreseeable future.

Not me though, its harder than it looks, especially when the manager has never achieved anything of the sort.

I'm mint, me.

At the start of last season I though Newcastle would do fairly well, finish 7th or 8th but sack Howe anyway.

Finishing as high as they did made that impossible, but I'd guess a higher profile manager is on the cards unless they win the cup this season. Can't see them making the CL now.

Reported last week by their CEO they will have to sell a big player this year to cover FFP
I think there is only really Isak and Gordon who'd fetch those kind of fees? Maybe Bruno.

This is why its different to when City started out. They weren't being made to sell Sergio Aguero just after he'd found his feet.

I honestly don’t understand how NCL can value Bruno at £100m. He’s bang average. Put him against a half decent midfield and he goes missing or just commits fouls like his pal Joelinton.

Lewis Miley will be out of the door as he's pure profit from an FFP perspective. Or if they can find a buyer for Longstaff

He's probably the only one with a significant resale value, though not £100mill significant.

The deluded are going to be jolly upset when it all goes through, most of them are still in denial.

Since the takeover nearly 2 and a half years ago now they’ve only really slow Saint-Maximin and Wood for any meaningful money and made a 10m loss on the latter.

in that time they’ve bought:
Trippier, Bruno, Targett, Burn, Wood, Pope, Botman, Isak, Tonali, Barnes, Livramento and soon to be Hall, just off the top of my head. The fans are now unhappy because they can’t just go out an buy someone Solanke. They’re going to have to be less financially reckless eventually and one of the star assets may even have to go.

Such a shame 🙂

Exactly. City never had these kind of shackles when they were breaking through from 'mid-table/underachieving well supported club' to 'club with loads of cash who want to be a global superpower'.

NUFC will win nowt, and plenty of it. ;)

It’s quite hilarious in many respects. They became owned by a massive oil fund at a time when that fund couldn’t directly invest millions in the squad, like Man City and Chelsea got away with.

The CEO is talking about needing to increase revenue, but it’s not even allowed that PIF “sponsor” them directly, or Aramco for that matter.

Can they sponsor the stadium naming rights? "The Government of Saudi Arabia Arena" has a nice ring to it. Bet the fans would lap it up this time as well, such is the influence the PIF have over them.
