Morsy.

Morsy made more successful tackles than any other player on the pitch on Sunday. That is his value to the team.

Is he the new boo boy then? I thought it was Howson after Sunday?

As said previously, he’s capable of having a decent game, but they’re too few and far between for us to rely on him.
ive seen him play poorly far more than I’ve seen him play well.

Howson had a good game on Sunday.

Onomah made more tackles than Morsy. Bola and Dijksteel made the same number of tackles as Morsy.

To be fair I think I was pretty petty last night with my ‘he’s *****’ comment. But I just don’t think it’s worked out for him here so far and I think we will benefit from him having him not in the starting line up but I accept he can do a job for us off the bench to help see games out and there will be games where he comes in from the start and does ok but for me he’s not our starting line up on a regular basis and is to much of a liability when it comes to slowing the game down with his time on the ball and committing fouls too much. Nothing against the lad but he just isn’t cutting in a Boro shirt.

I think he's potentially a far better player than he's shown so far. Wigan fans love him, many described him as their best player during that ridiculous run they went on the season they went down.

Sometimes it just doesn't work out for a player at a club. Seemed like a sensible signing at the time, but he definitely needs to improve.

Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, think his season was disrupted by a few injuries last year and it's early days so far this season.

My worry is that he’s a good player for a team with aspirations of a team fighting to stay up. If we are serious about a good season then I think he could hinder us, but if we end up in a scrap fighting for our lives maybe it could suit Him.

He might help us get our coveted 11th place.

Maybe, although even teams chasing promotion need fighters and will have games where it's backs against the wall. Particularly Warnock promotion teams you'd think.

Also Wigan didn't even play like a side fighting relegation during that run, they were dominating games at times I think? Although psychologically a very different situation I suppose, they kind of had nothing to lose, they looked dead and buried with the points deduction, would have been possibly the greatest escape of all time. Maybe that's part of it.

Morsy normal job is to stop the opposition, which in general he did last season, when he didn't play we got less points. I was surprised he played last night. I thought we would have started with Hackney in central midfield. At Fulham, Morsy did OK to restrict Fulham.

Yes, I also thought Saville was a better all round player.
As many have commented, he is probably best as Bench cover for Howson and is nowhere near as good as Clayton was in that role.
I don't like the fact that we seem to want to get as many holding MF in the side as possible. George Boeteng didn't need another George Boeteng along side him.
It's part of the reason that we showed no attacking threat against Fulham for so long on Sunday. We simply could not carry the ball out.

And 4 successful tackles - George would have nailed 4 in the first 15 mins of a game. As would Robbie Mustoe.

did we get lose last night?????hes a decent player, some of you people on here need to realise we are no longer in the premier league!!!!!,as for someone above claiming Clayton was a better player,,,,,,,,wow, just wow!!!!!!!

Tbh I haven't seen him playing live yet for MFC with all the lockdown stuff.
I don't think you can get a true picture of what he does for the team until you've watched him with your own eyes a few times, the positions he takes up, off the ball cover, the unselfish stuff etc You simply can't judge a player from watching them on tv...
