Can somebody tell me what he offers other than a yellow card? I can’t remember him winning a tackle, generally just fouls and gets booked. Doesn’t really offer much by way of creativity and always seems a yard off the pace.

Sounds to me like he's the same as the rest of our pish poor midfield.
 
He’s been another mistake — granted there’s not a lot on offer but as a replacement for Clayton he’s not even close.
 
I’m astonished there are any people who rate him. He is extremely limited technically, lacks mobility resulting in him being caught wrong side therefore collecting cards regularly and offers virtually zero from an attacking sense. He is far better suited to a team battling for survival, not one with aspirations for promotion.

Wonder how long it will be before Warnock states he wasn’t his signing…
 
They love him on that Boro Breakdown like he’s the messiah. Haven’t seen anything that suggests he’s better than conference standard.
 
Controversially (perhaps? ) I actually rate him

hes a defensive midfielder so can't judge on attacking input. He wasn't signed to score or assist. I think he disrupts the opposition midfield well and looks pretty composed on the ball when offloading. He has a specific job and does it pretty well imo

That’s part of my point though, for a defensive midfielder he doesn’t actually win the ball very much. He gets beat in the air being short and he seems to get bypassed easily, which is why he has to foul.

I remember looking at the stats last season and out of him, Saville & Howson he was bottom in everything. Including duels won.
 
Can’t cope with someone who fouls as much as he does. It’s such a frustrating thing and gives the opposition so many opportunities
 
I think he gets exposed a lot to be fair. He's probably not quite good enough to play that Kante role on his own. We expect the other two either side to play a box to box role which often leaves him on his if the opposition turn it over quickly.

May be worth playing two out and out DMs (him being one of them) against decent opposition.

That said we lack the pace to break quickly if playing that way.
 
We got beat, never seen the game but lets say someones ****. Someone has to be.

He didn't disrupt a lot tonight looking at the scoresheet. He did so well, he managed to get the hook. Hardly the back bone, midfield enforcer that is required.
