Morsy.

FFS terrible imo if that happens
as I’ve said before it might well be purely a financial decision. If we’ve picked up Morsy for less than £500k (worth much more) and we’re trading for a player that cost £6m last season (currently worth much less) I’m guessing at 24yo the potential is still there to have a £15m player on our hands.

If we were getting Siliki and McGrath I could maybe understand a little more.

i think i'm looking more at the playing side. I'd rather have Morsy than Burke. I'm not sure where Burke would fit in.

Any idea of the fee? presumably there was a fee involved? One way or t'other.
Obviously turned out to be the case that Warnock was not overly impressed by Morsy either. Still, you can't really expect too much for £500k.

Bumping irrelevant 3 year old threads isn't that intersting though. He hasn't been our player for ages and I didnt think he was anything special when he was here either. Maybe just suits the team he is in.

I overheard a lad in the pub the other day yapping on about Morsy. Claiming our fortunes may be a lot different if we’d have kept him! 🤣

He was crap for us. Card waiting to happen, constantly slowed down our play in midfield. Offered very little.

He’s done really well at Ipswich, but they’ve had the benefit of building a squad from league one, got promoted and been on the crest of a wave. He’s of course, been part of a decent side but there’s more than just him.

If Ipswich don’t go up this season, they’ll be a mid table to top half side next season IMO. I don’t see them replicating this seasons form. The bubble will burst.

It wouldn’t have made a difference, he went to a club, who at the time had different expectations to us… as such he got a run in the team, in a formation that suited him better, and has grown as player and in confidence. He wouldn’t have been able to do those things with us… the Morsy of today Might fit some where into our team, the Morsy of yesteryear didn’t and we didn’t have the time to develop him into that kind of player… I’m happy for him!

Morsy came from Wigan with a very good reputation and like Azaz who had the same reputation at Plymouth was charged with being too slow on the ball. I wish we gave more time to players to develop. Patience is sometimes a virtue when you are a supporter and with some people that is missing.
