Morsy.

“He is far better suited to a team battling for survival, not one with aspirations for promotion.”

should do well for us this season then

You can say that again. it's totally obvious...massively overreacting after a defeat negativity personified and calling our players **** !!! 👎

Read the comments on the match thread of me defending the manager for his selection. I ain’t bothered about this result so much really, just don’t rate Morsy and think he gets away with murder.

I’m basing my input form last season —Warnock has had to yank him several times as he doesn’t trust him and I can’t see it getting any better this season.

I think his style is a bit awkward and betrays his ability really, but we've got what we paid for. He's never going to create chance after chance, hes not that type of player. For the outlay I'd say hes decent value, but then he came for a modest outlay.

Clayton was a fantastic player for us, if were going down the route of that comparator, even in the PL he held his own and more.

Morsy does a specific job for the team, similar to Clayton but Clayton - at his peak for us - was in a much better unit surrounded by better players. I think Warnock is still trying to find the right balance in midfield really. When we went to Swansea last season and thoroughly outplayed them Morsy was absolutely brilliant.

I’m astonished there are any people who rate him. He is extremely limited technically, lacks mobility resulting in him being caught wrong side therefore collecting cards regularly and offers virtually zero from an attacking sense. He is far better suited to a team battling for survival, not one with aspirations for promotion.

Wonder how long it will be before Warnock states he wasn’t his signing…

When he was signed there were people on here who rated him highly. And not many detractors.

Wow. Guess Morsy is this years boo boy then?

Amazing how so many have such a strong opinions of him, after a game that wasn’t televised.

I must be in a tiny minority who thinks he’s a very good player when he’s on his game.
I posted this as I was there and I’m basing my opinion on every time I’ve seen him play. And that’s the problem, ‘when he’s on his game’, which seems to be one in 20.

I think most players go through this, fans either see them as good or bad players, with no room for anything between.

For the outlay Morsay has been a good signing I think, he does what it says on the box.

I generally think he should be Howson's backup in the defensive anchor role and not much else. He grabbed a couple of very good assists last season, for Saville away at Forest springs to mind, and is capable of looking pretty good in fairness - but a lot of the time I just don't enjoy watching him. Too slow and just gives fouls away. Bit of an anti-footballer.

I suppose like most players in the championship, sometimes looks great and sometimes looks naff. That's why they play in the championship. I certainly wouldn't be singling him out for criticism.

He's got energy and enthusiasm, but the game passes him by and he is pretty slow at moving the ball, always needs another touch to sort the ball out from under his feet. Probably a fantastic league one player and ok as a squad player at our level.

Morsy made more successful tackles than any other player on the pitch on Sunday. That is his value to the team.

Is he the new boo boy then? I thought it was Howson after Sunday?
