I must admit, I thought he looked average at times when playing for us and I certainly never envisaged what he's achieved in such a short spell with Villa

I was watching the game tonight and I was trying to think of a player who played for us and went on to be such a huge part of another team.

Yeah, I can’t really think of one either. Maybe Schwarzer for Fulham? Nowhere near as glamorous obviously.

It’s a weird feeling knowing he was on our books last season and now he’s one of the most talked about young players in Europe.

Rogers was Reccomended to Gary Gill 24.5.21 again after being watched by me when playing for Lincoln on loan from Man City . Just trawled through old emails and that’s the earliest I can see . Mentioned him numerous times before and after that as a reminder . So he was on the radar from then . I saw him in a televised game in November and he stood out .I think Gary had left the club prior to that but was still involved and we kept in touch .
Rogers had a good run of form then went the last 11 games without scoring .
