Thought Hackney and Howson both had good games but McGree was our best midfield player today.

Much better today but still made the wrong choice a couple of times, needs to improve on his shooting desperately. He gets into some great positions but his final pass/shot let’s him down.

I thought McGree was very good today. Excellent play for the goal and got into some good positions. Sometimes he makes the wrong decision (like Tav!), sometimes his shooting is off (like Tav!) but today he always showed for the ball and never stopped (like…you know who!). He’s not the finished article yet but if he continues to play like he did today he will be an important player for us

Carrick wouldn't have started him unless he saw something in training.
He'll work with him to sort his 1st touch out and possession.
McGree has been given a lifeline to kick-start his career and the opportunity to impress.
Hope he takes it.
I have more faith in him than Giles

Plus, Mcgree remember, has been playing as a number 10 in a totally different position and formation so let’s cut him some time to find his confidence and settle into this position.
I trust MC so help him in the same way he is helping Hackney.
If it doesn’t work then MC will do something else.

McGree provided attacking threat yesterday, will be benefitting from getting a run of games in his preferred position.

"lightweight" is the word that immediately springs to mind.

One thing that does go in his favour is he definitely offers something a bit different to our other midfielders.

So far though, has mainly flattered to deceive. Quite a frustrating player actually, has some good touches, gets into some good areas but his final ball or shot is usually either poorly executed or the wrong choice. Has a habit of hanging onto it for too long too.

You would think if anyone could get him playing well though it'd be a former midfielder of Carrick's pedigree.

Our best player yesterday, he was a constant threat and it was only because of really excellent goalkeeping that he didn't have a hat-trick.

I swear Boro fans would rather have a player that didn’t get into good positions to miss chances and get things slightly wrong than they would someone like McGree who was a constant threat yesterday.

When he was one on one with the keeper he got pulled over and he hit his shot towards goal off balance.It also happened to Forss twice,they just seemed to have a free pass to push and shove our players in the box.

He's certainly better when he has the chance to attack.
