I'll stick my neck out and agree wholeheartedly. I really like him as a footballer. You can't judge him on "getting stuck in", it's not his game. He needs the ball to be able to influence the gameI'm going to stick my neck out and say he'll be one of our key players by the end of the season. Potentially top class imo.
the Hull game we moved between 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1.. I even saw us 3-5-2Why do people keep saying 442 with Giles on the wing. The formation is never that straightforward otherwise we would be completely overrun in the middle.
Mcgree tucks in and gives us an extra body in the centre. Giles is the winger when we attack. Smith then shifts round to make a 3. When we defend Giles is full back and mcgree picks up the wide man or attacking full back.
It works well they just need to improve at it.
Must admit I haven't seen either of Carrick's games so far and was intrigued how it converted from paper onto the pitch. Your explanation makes a lot of sense. Why do people keep saying 442 with Giles on the wing. The formation is never that straightforward otherwise we would be completely overrun in the middle.
