Mandalorian

I'm not a massive SW fan, I've seen the movies and started Mandalorian when it came out and personally think its one of the best shows around. I might not get all the SW references, there'll be stuff i miss, but i think its really good mix of humour, storylines, action etc just wish it came out in bulk instead of weekly!!

I’m the opposite. Big SW fan but can’t get into Mando. Just feels like it’s too separate a story for me, same universe but not really related to the Skywalker stuff.

Not sure how you can say after the way series 1 ended.

I honestly think it’s the best thing on tv.

This is the Star Wars show we’ve always wanted.

I didn't make it to the end of series 1! I do know one or two things that have happened since I stopped watching, but it hasn't been enough to reel me back in. I know there's a bit of crossover, but its basically a separate story isn't it? Its not like it will give me a final explanation of who Snoke actually was or whatever is it?

Its star wars. They are probably all related to Luke Skywalker. At the end of the series you'll find out Mando is Darth Vader's dad, the baby Yoda is boba fetts aunt on his wife's side and the gnarly alien bloke will come back to life and reveal himself as his own uncle.

Not even close when you consider Andor. That showed how you can do Star Wars without force-users running around all over the place.

Mandalorian is okay and I'm happy enough watching it but the writing is very childish* and it's just too slow. There doesn't appear to be a pre-written narrative (or if there is there are too many side-quests).

*not as bad as the worst of Star Wars but nowhere near the best

Not a massive starwars fan i thought andor was excellent but the obiwan series was poor and had little depth behind light sabre fights. Might try mandaloirian if its a similar style to andor

It's nothing like Andor. It's very much in the Western-in-Space format. I'd say it's closer to Obi-Wan but it's better written (despite not being great).

Obi wan was awful

I agree Andor was excellent yes Mando a lot more in keeping with the Andor style not story line but approach.

I couldn't get in to Andor. I love the Mandolorian though . the only disappointing thing for me is that they've kept on with Grogu. Him and Mando should have split off at the end of last series and gone along their own paths.

I watched the first series of Mandalorian but found the quality of it poor. In places, it reminded me a bit of a 1980s style naff A-team type thing. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the A-team, but I’m not 12 anymore. There was enough decent stuff that meant I persisted, but that Gina Carano was soooooo ***** she turned me right off it.

Might give it another try and give series 2 a go.
We can’t all like the same thing.
I agree Obi-wan was pants.

I love it all. I turn my brain down from its poirot setting to 12 year old boy mode and I sit back and enjoy the lot.

I even enjoy the crap ones because its star wars and the plot and story in most of them is fairly awful when you scratch the surface.

I even liked obi wan.

To each their own. My favourite SW spin off thing was Rogue One, which I absolutely loved, and I unfairly keep hoping the tv spin-offs are going to be something like that (while acknowledging the budget constraints).

Andor is more cerebral, Mando is just good old fashioned pulp science fiction, like a boys own space rangers type show. I enjoy it for the most part though the latest episode with Jack Black and Christopher Lloyd was the poorest of them that I can recall.
