And LizzoJack Black and Christopher Lloyd
I have a completely different view of this.Obi wan was awful
I agree Andor was excellent yes Mando a lot more in keeping with the Andor style not story line but approach.
For me Star Wars works best when it’s like a classic war movie. Andor felt like that it was the empire and the oppression of being under a totalitarian secret police state.I have a completely different view of this.
I thought Obi-wan was fantastic and Andor was a complete pile of shyte. What about Andor did you enjoy, and likewise what did you dislike about Kenobi?
I found OWK entertaining, but I can see the argument that it sort of ruins Episode IV. The scene where Guinness meets Vader is, at the time, surely designed to make you think it’s the first time they’ve fought since they initially parted company.I have a completely different view of this.

Yes it just didn’t look right did it.OWK makes it look like they used to meet up once a week for a bit of fisticuffs.
Andor: Gritty realism in a fantasy universe. Much closer to e.g. Empire Strikes Back and Rogue One than other live action shows. Actually felt like there was a consistent plot running throughout.I have a completely different view of this.

I loved Andor and the way it leads up to Rogue One.Andor showed the dirty underbelly of Star Wars, which is why I enjoyed it.
It's was also the reason why I was gutted 1313 was cancelled when Disney took over.
I think Andor could've been done in about seven or eight episodes, twelve was far too many, I got bored with it. Cassian's actual story was decent, and the prison break was really good, as well as his little mission with the rebels at the start to steal the imperial payroll, but there were too many boring side stories. Mon Mothma's story I thought was quite boring, although it was good to see her and watch what she's up to, trying to sow the seeds of rebellion. The imperials who we see were just dreadful characters. Don't get me started on the guy who loses his job and is desperate to catch Andor... everything about him was dull, and I think if they'd left him out of the show it would've been much better off. None of that interested me. I hope they can redeem it with season 2.For me Star Wars works best when it’s like a classic war movie. Andor felt like that it was the empire and the oppression of being under a totalitarian secret police state.
Brilliantly done.
Obi wan is pinned on the prequels and I just can’t away with them and I just don’t get Ewan mcgreggor as obi wan either ( I know that a controversial view)
I don't agree, I'm sure that one of the inquisitors say in the show to the third sister that they should drop their interest in Kenobi because he's likely dead if they haven't found him after all the years of searching. So I don't feel like it does make it seem they meet up all the time for a fight.I found OWK entertaining, but I can see the argument that it sort of ruins Episode IV. I agree but what did they even retcon in the show? Other than the obvious Vader and Kenobi meeting up again when we were led to believe a new hope was the first meeting since mustafarI actually enjoyed Obi-Wan but it wouldn't have taken much to tighten up the writing and remove the obviously silly stuff (like the chase). I don't like all the retconning either. It just leads to inconsistencies that are unnecessary.
Retcon ???I agree but what did they even retcon in the show? Other than the obvious Vader and Kenobi meeting up again when we were led to believe a new hope was the first meeting since mustafar
"Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire." is Leia identifying herself and making a plea on behalf of her 'father'.And I think showing Obi Wan getting to know Leia, tied in really well to how she calls for his help after the battle of Scarif in rogue one / A new hope
Yeah tbf I'll give you that one, it does make it seem daft that she wouldn't mention it."Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire." is Leia identifying herself and making a plea on behalf of her 'father'.
Why didn't she just talk about that time Obi-Wan scoured the galaxy (and almost blew his mission to keep Luke safe) to rescue her?
Retcon means when something that was previously established as canon (something that is accepted as being true from the author's previous works) is essentially ripped up and changed. Basically where they contradict something in the story and it becomes the new "truth". An example, in Harry Potter professor McGonagal's age was stated somewhere I think, and then in the second fantastic beasts film she is seen teaching at hogwarts, when actually she should be a student or a young child. So there they've changed the story and we have to accept that the previous source material is wrongRetcon ???
Andor by far the best thing to come out the modern Star Wars stuff. Agree about mandorlin stuff as well, really struggled with series 3 after andorNot even close when you consider Andor. That showed how you can do Star Wars without force-users running around all over the place.
Mandalorian is okay and I'm happy enough watching it but the writing is very childish* and it's just too slow. There doesn't appear to be a pre-written narrative (or if there is there are too many side-quests).
*not as bad as the worst of Star Wars but nowhere near the best

Pretty certain “Darth” was meant to be Vader’s Christian name until Episode 5 was made, rather than a Sith prefix. You can tell by the way OWK calls him it in Episode 4.You could write out any number of reasons for that. She might not have wanted to reveal that her and Obi-Wan had previously known each other incase the recording was captured. Maybe she just felt Bail Organa's relationship with the Jedi was a stronger lure to Obi-Wan.
Star Wars will always have holes in the story, it was made with holes in the story. Luke and Leia weren't even siblings until ROTJ. Lucas was able to keep it all together as he went, unlike those in charge of the sequel trilogy.
