Lukas Engel - can we get an update?

He is injured. Have seen him around at Hurworth. He wouldnt be there I don't think if they were forcing him out.

He was back on the grass about two weeks ago able to do light training.. alongside Rav Van Den Burg.. but a bit behind Rav in terms of a return. Been suffering with a pelvic issue apparently. Back end of last season and then cropping up again September.

Had a few MOTM performances last season and his assists were on par with Ryan Giles 2nd half of the season.. his goal contributions led to more points than Ryan Giles also.

I don't think Smith, Lenihan or Engel will play for Boro again.

I think we will sign Edmundson on a free, Dijksteel will establish as RB, and both Borges and Bangura are much better than Engel.

Yeah, I think January will be an important and big month for Boro, I see Engel, Foss, Gilbert all potentially going on loan or sold to free up space in the squad.

It's a shame for Forss as I like him but he just can't stay fit, another niggle yesterday which stopped his involvement.

Engel needs to go home if he's unhappy.

Gilbert needs game time to keep improving.

Lenihan may go on loan to if fit.

I suppose what am getting at is if we have opportunities to strengthen the squad with better players, there are slots available provided we can move players on, football is about constant evolution.

When is Bangura expected to be back?

The Gazette wrote an article implying he will not be back till at least the end of January. The theme of the article focused on was it worth registering for this season. By not registering any longer it free up another squad space for an incoming January purchase/loan.

I’d be disappointed if Forss was sold in Jan, he was fantastic at times and coming on as a sub he’s so direct that knackered defenders will crumble

Surely no chance of Liverpool making that decision.

They might do it to loan him out to a lower premier league team for more money, but I reckon we are paying a pretty good loan fee and he is getting lots of games and playing well. He wouldn't get anywhere near the game time even at a lower premier league team. They could sell him if a big offer comes in but I doubt that. One thing I am pretty certain of is liverpool recalling to play in their squad. He wouldn't even make the bench most weeks at the moment.
